Thread: I think that Lewis is a top ten on the best heavies ever.

If you want to complle a list of top 10 Heavies, you have to look at how many dominant heavies there were in history - answer not many!!

- It's difficult to find 10 with more right to a top 10 place than LL.

Holyfield for one (great as he was) has a flawed record at heavyweight imo

Lost to Bowe
Nearly stopped by journeyman cooper
Laboured to wins over geriatrics Foreman and Holmes
Lost to Bowe gain
Lost to Moorer

didn't often have 2 good fights in a row - like I say without doubt a great - and def greatest Cruiser ever, but wouldn't make my top 10 heavies list

just one example

he does to deserve to be in top ten. he was a great champion

tyson and holy were shadows of there former selves, especially tyson. lewis should have koed holyfield and ko tyson a lot quicker than he did. he was just to over cautious which = BORING.

You can say the same about PBF... boring fights, beating faded champions, over-cautious...but he still gets the crap bummed outta him. Plus, you don't have to be exciting to be good, you have to win to be good. Lewis only fought faded fighters cause they were all shit scared to fight him (Bowe, Holyfield & Tyson all ducked him for a while). They waited till they were old so they had the damn excuse if they lost. They just went for the beating and the payday. (except Bowe...he remained shit scared for the rest of his career)

actually the worst record of opponents would go 2 dempsey--and marciano and louis are even--im just saying lewis has got nothing special---marciano's claim 2 fame is never losing--louis is record 25 title defenses and longest reign--so whats lewis's?

No but seriously Patterson does belong in the top 10.
That boys always over looked 1 of the first universally recognized Champs in history.
Theres been a handful of dominant Heavys (more then 10) to list 10 you can only go by what you think.
I think Patterson belongs there.

Patterson would of been one of finest Lightheavys ever but his chin was weak at hw but he had ton of heart thing is other than Ingemar who else did he beat ??
