Default Boxing needs some defining fights!

We need some defining fights now. Fights that define careers and define divisions. We need to be separating the good from the great.

I feel Calzaghe vs. Kessler is a big start. There is no fight in boxing that needs to be made more. There aren't any other ways these two can look for now, so we need to find out.

I wanna see Abraham-Sturm to get a unified champion. The winner should fight the winner of Taylor-Pavlik so we can truly find out who the best are.

Manny Pacquiao needs a big fight. While I think fighting Valero would be ok, I want to see him take on somebody great. If JMM is unavailable, I'd like to see him either offer Chris John big money for a fight, or move up to Lightweight and fight Diaz.

Anyone else agree that too many big names are pussy footing around and should be looking to fight the best?

I agree on this here it's been a while since we've had a single div. where the top guys are fighting eachother.

Thats a good start but I'm afraid amongst all the talks and Pre-Madonna attitudes in both teams this ones in for the long run. But if it comes off it'll be great.

I disagree with the 1st fight of Abraham-Sturm and I'll tell you why. I don't think Sturms there yet. Yes he is the WBA champ. but let's forget hes coming off a TKO loss prior to his revenge.
We all know the Champ is Taylor and until somebody beats him he will be the Champ I think Pavlik-Abraham then the winner of that to face Taylor.
I think Abrahams more deservent of a shot at Taylor then Sturm.

If JMM and Pac DON'T fight eachother not only will they both miss out on themselves but Boxing as a sport will be hit with the biggest impact.
I don't think it would be a good idea for JMM to move up in weight now I mean age, wear & tare of the sport I think it would end up like when Erik moved up (In a loss).

PDL vs. Bautista (For all my Philipino people)
Hasegawa vs. Gonzalez (For my boy Killersheep)
    Mijares vs. Montiel
    Vic vs. Pongsaklek

I think unification is really the key here, they could make more money and we would get better fights if, the 4 major paper title holder had to fight each other. Furthermore, a title eliminator fight should mean just that, the winner gets to fight the title holder.
Maybe it would be good for boxing as a whole to have seasons ending with championship tournaments et. al.
And I know just the guy to run it ME.

P.S. thanks CutMeMick for putting Gonzalez on there!!
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
