Default Anthony Small to challenge Bradley Pryce

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/6725015.stm

Bradley Pryce will defend his Commonwealth Light Middle title against up-and-comer Anthony Small on the 14 July bill also featuring Nicky Cook v Steve Luevan and Willie Limond v Amir Khan.

Personally I reckon this is an exciting match-up, as Pryce has become much more consistent over recent times, since moving to be trained by Enzo Calzaghe, and Small is really yet to be tested, but a good banger. He edged out Walter "2-guns" Wright in the Contender UK v USA series recently, and that was one step up, so we'll see how he does with another step-up against Pryce. I think it's a tough one to call, but either a Pryce points win or a Small KO. (Or any other possible result....just to hedge my bets.)

Small had similar style to Roy Jones he impressed me until he started to get caught but he could do good if he works on stamina.

He is a very very poor mans Roy Jones, i dont rate Pryce that highly but we dont know what Small brings to a 12 rnd fight?? But if i had to pick someone id say Small edges it in 12 a 12 rnd decision, Jamie Moore beats them both.

On that note im also hearing that Frank Maloney is trying to put Jamie Moore in against Schell Powell for his next fight, what do people think about that? I think that would be a very competitive fight and a good test for Jamie in relation to his World Title ambitions.

We can't start to criticise Small yet, he's still undefeated, and did enough to win last time out, just as he has done in each fight. The big question is whether he's got the stamina and the invention to beat Pryce over 12, especially down the stretch.

As for Moore, he needs a few big fights, last I heard he was hoping for one before the summer break then a big fight in the autumn. Sechew Powell would be a decent step up for him, and stepping up his opponents is what he needs to do now.

Small strikes me as a right entertainer, i like him but im not a fan of his style.

He tries to hard to be Roy/ Floyd. (Shoulder roll, leaping left hooks etc)

I say he tries too hard. Maybe he's just playing around with it but that style wont get him too far as its clear he doesn't have the athletism to pull that shat off against higher level opposition.
