in his prime mercer had a rock solid chin ( just ask lennox lewis he'll tell you ) a hard punch ( morrison will will say yes to that ) he was tough and always came to fight

he fights internet famed backyard brawler KIMBO SLICE later this month in a cage fight, the fans of such formats ( UFC, MMA, K-1 ) are saying this will prove that MMA format fighters are better then boxers, that KIMBO will prove this by beating RAY MERCER.......................RAY is now nearly 50 while KIMBO is 31

i hope RAY beats him and by KO

who do you guys think will win?? and what does either fighter HAVE to do to beat the OTHER?

I hope Mercer wins. Although I knew Mercer was 50 or so I did not realize that Kimbo Slice was only 31. That's one hell of a beard for a 30 year old to have.

iv seen all of Kimbo's fights on youtube and can say the guy is most definetly built,absolutley solid,pretty tough,can take a good punch and give out an even better one and for a backyard scrapper his movement and skills are pretty decent....that being said if mercer is up 4 this and is at least semi-fit he should be able to deal with Kimbo no probs

Mercer should kick Kimbo's ass something fierce . Kimbo's been playing with and beating up on street boys with no skills. big difference. Mercer been fighting his whole life professionally . Ray’s seen it all. Mercer at 46 should win this one pretty fast. I'll be pulling for him

It was to show a mate who Mercer is . He isnt into boxing but he keeps sending me the links to PS fights and Kimbos latest punchbag . I wanted to show him Mercer in his prime . I know Mercer is almost 50 now but he is still the same man who lasted the distance with Evander and Lewis ( and got stopped by Briggs and Wvlad )

Mercer is 46 not 50. I don't think most MMA fans are rootin for Kimbo since he's not really an MMA fighter even, just a street fighter who got his fame off the internet and youtube. I'll be rootin for Mercer and less he takes another dive, he should KO Kimbo, who is tuff, but mostly fights scrubs. When is the date of the fight again?

Mercer's punches can hardly be described as "good" ... If Kimbo gets hit "good" by Mercer, he is going to have to be able to take a Foreman-like punch to withstand.

Mercer was one powerful dude in his time. Got serious about himself too late, and was past prime somewhat when he had the right head on his shoulders ... but a scarey powerful puncher.
