Default Can calzaghe beat every fighter from middleweight to light heavy

i think he can to be honest.

jermain taylor has proved recently that he is not a worthy opponent for calzaghe. calzaghe would just outbox his ass all fight.

winky wright is a fight i think calzaghe could win being that he is bigger , stronger and faster and his work rate is good and that could mean he walks away with a decision.

mikkel kessler .. well i can't decide yet. haven't seen any kessler fights to judge him. i will watch some of his fights soon

bernard hopkins .. i think calzaghe would beat the older hopkins because of his workrate. hopkins isn't very active in fights because of his age now. i think if calzaghe boxed with hopkins then big mistake but could beat hopkins if he out worked him which he could do quite easily.

there are more fighters i could name that would be good for calzaghe to face but i can't be bothered typing anymore lol so i will stop there.

    In a word... No.

A motivated Taylor gives him problems.

Wright gives him all kinds of trouble.

Kessler gives him trouble even if his hands hold up.

    Pavlik might spark him.

BCD, Tarver if he's in good shape, RJJ all beat Joe C at 175.

    calzaghe prime is over .

kessler is the last fight for calzaghe

    kessler will destroy him.

The worst he could do would to be in a 50/50 fight with any of these guys. I would have him as slight favourite against the best of them, Winky,Hopkins, Dawson and maybe kessler.

    I agree he beats Taylor...

Calzaghes workrate might(I mean might) beat an older hopkins.

Wright gives him problems but I say Winky handles Joe C in a tough fight.

Kessler loses a very close fight.

a motivated RJJ Beats him at LH.

Pavlik loses a very close fight... Joe takes a beaten but wins the dec.

Tarver loses due to being poisoned

I think he beats Taylor but not Kessler and or Pavlik. Hands are his biggest problems. If he broke one with the slaps he threw on his last fight he would surly break them on a real puch ,and he would have to throw real punches to beat Kessler or Pavlik.

    In a word Yes.

Lets slow down with Pavlik just a minute. Props to the man for handling Miranda the way he did but Calzaghe is a different kettle of fish. Superior to Miranda and Pavlik in every way.

Well i agree in a way but we cant really say how good Pavlik is? Hes 6/2 he could easily move up weight he has answered every question so far in his career hes young and hungry, id fancy Joe but we know how Jo cant resist a tear up and Pavlik is a dangerous puncher to be trading with as Miranda found out.

Watch the ealr fight of lacy, Joe boxed well, stayed clear of any real brawls, moved used his skills to get the job done and frsutrate him - he only really got in his face more as it was clear how much better he was..

As for pavilk... he is too slow and lacks skills and movment to beat joe. Im not being funny but even atthis point joe will box circles around him and really do a number over him...

Taylor gets beat worse than lacy that i would be my house on.

Hopkins and wright he beats them both IMO - botch lacking any major excitment

Kessler would be his hardest but providing he uses the right tactics i would still pick joe to win by a fair margin...

I like Dawson, defo one of the futres of boxing... but right now he lacks a fair few things and would be to green to beat Joe IMO

Obviously boxing is not that clear cut any anything can happen... but other than the names mentioned there is noone else imo worth mentioning

But Lacy wasnt throwing anything?? Im the biggest Calzaghe fan, but watch Joes fights he cant but help having a toe to toe tear up, and Pavlik has a huge overhand right, this would be a dnagerous fight for Joe.

You say Hopkins and Wright have no major excitment? So what Hopkins in his day would give Joe fits imo, Joe has never looked good against cagey crafty counter punchers i.e Reid Salem, Hopkins now might be a bit to old we will know more about Hopkins after the Wright fight he looked great against Tarver but lets be honest who wouldnt of beat Tarver in that fight?

Wright is to small imo, he comes forwad and fights you he does cover up very well but Joe will be able to basically do what he wants imo.

Chad Dawson like i said is a big man with quick hands who can box on the outside another fight where i think Joe could win but wouldn't automatically go near.

i meant should he fight them now the fight would lack excitment with calzaghe picking up a ud

As for lacy he wasn't throwing much coz joe wasnt standing in front of him going toe-to-toe... he was hitting and moving, frustrating the shit out of him, i mean sure lacy could of thrown alot more but he would of looked a bit silly standing in the middle of the ring shadow boxing wouldn't he?

Pavilk would be even eaiser for joe to hit and frustrate imo.. towards the later rounds you would see joe more action packed, but buy then i would expect a majorly drained pavilk
