Default David Haye's KO defeat to Carl Thompson - video

Been looking for this for ages - this KO is Haye's only defeat to Carl Thompson

From what I remember he had Thompson in all kinds of trouble in first two rounds and I think he may have even had him down. perhaps someone with a better memory can shed some light on this ??

He didn't floor Thompson but he battered him and threw everything but kitchen sink at Thompson.

    cheers

was also looking for Thompson's fight against Ezra Sellers from a few years ago

He lost in fourth round but there were 6 knockdowns in total - Thompson went down 4 times, Sellers twice

Please post if anyone finds it

This proves Haye just doesnt have the tools for a hard scrap, if he fights someone with balls and experience he will fall apart again, if Fragomeni didnt fall apart it would have happened again

Haye's mouthpiece flew across the camera right before the stoppage.

I've heard good things about him but I think he's going to have trouble at heavyweight

Thats the second time Ive watched that. At the time I thought it was all doom and gloom but I think there was a lot for Haye to take out of that. He stood up to some serious punches from a serious hitter and was fighting back at the finish, however futile an effort that might have proved. I still dont think that Haye has totally worked past the loss even now, he still gets a bit overexcited too early in fights but on the whole that wasnt as bad as I initially thought.

Typical Thompson that wasnt it. I read a nice story about the two of them having a drink afterwards, Rothman was livid with himself, I think he did himself out of a serious payday with that loss.

Steady on it was only Haye's 11th Pro fight and he basically punched himself-out through sheer inexperience. Lets remember that Thompson was no bum and had ko'd Sebastian Rothman in his previous fight, picking up the IBO title in the process. Thompson was having his 39th fight.
I think Haye learned alot from that fight and its stood him in good stead.

    Here's a recent Haye compilation of Knock-outs.

I didnt know David Haye did road work

That looked for the world like Duane Ledejeo (sp?)
