Default Erik Morales vs David Diaz

ROSEMONT, Illinois – It will be the Battle of Midway when three-division world champion ERIK “El TERRIBLE” MORALES, making his Chicago debut and seeking his record fourth world boxing title in as many weight divisions, rumbles with WBC lightweight champion and Chicago native DAVID DIAZ in the main event of “The War for 4!” Promoted by Top Rank Inc., in association with Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Promotions, “The War for 4!” world championship extravaganza will take place Saturday, August 4 from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, ILL. and broadcast live on pay-per-view.

Has anyone here seen David Diaz fight?

Erik is way past his peak, but I hope he wins convincingly.

    This shouldn't be on PPV.

I saw Diaz fight live once. Very soft paper champion. I don't think Morales will win but he shouldn't get roughed up too bad.

    Exactly.

Diaz isn't that good of a fighter. But he is tough and he hangs in there all fight and is very persistant. Like a lot of Mexican fighters, he'll be the same guy in round 1 as he is in round 9 and that scares me a bit because Morales fatigues early now.

I'm really not happy with this fight and this is from a guy who wanted Gatti - Chico really bad.

If Morales wins, then no big deal, Diaz isn't that good and certainly isn't on Morales' level. But he would get a belt and be lined up to face someone who could be dangerous. It's not really this fight that has me uneasy, it's what comes after this.

I can't see him walking away the victor that is for dang sure!

If he does get past David Diaz I'd like to see Kid Diamond get a shot at working him over for the shiny trinket.

Yes, I'm a Kid Diamond man! I wish he would cut loose that rat tail though.

I think he will get back on track once he gets another chance at glory. I am sure he grows weary of piddlin' around with lesser fighters.

Sounds like this fight is going to be a good one but mediocre.

you guys are crazy, morales is going to win. He'll beat Diaz at a weight class more suited for him now. Then after he wins everyone is going to be like ooh eric is at a better weight class ooh his going to beat so and so. typical boxing fans always so predictable.

The way Erik has been getting knocked out back to back recently suggests he has nothing left but , he has had a lay off and now at a higher weight he is going against his easiest opponent for a long time. Diaz cant break an egg with his punches and would be fit to lace Morales' boots in his prime. Now though its a toss up .

If it gets too hot in the kitchen Erik will probably get knocked out for the 3rd time in a row and have his 5th loss in his last 6 fights but if he can play it safe theres no reason to belive he cant beat Diaz who is a poor fighter

pac knocks out pretty much everyone he faces, he hasn't won a single decision in america they are all by knock out. so just because you get knock out by pac back to back doesn't quite mean he has nothing left. jst my 2 cent. I think the new weight for eric will be better for him.

It wasn't better for him against Raheem. He's never looked as bad as he did against Raheem.

While it'll be impossible for me to not root for Morales (he's one of my favorite all-time fighters), my biggest worry is that he'll win this fight, and then fight next against an elite fighter who could really hurt him.

Say Morales wins (but still looks old), and then Marquez can't get a fight with either Pac or MAB, would Marquez take the big money and fight Morales at 135? Ya, he might. And I think he would beat up Erik.
