Default referee judah- cotto: I love you too much!!!???

Ok I am not saying that the referee showed Judah any favortism infact he did a hell of a job of officiating, but did any one notice after the third round he went to judahs corner and told him "were all like family hear" as weird as that was to hear it was even stranger when upon stoping the fight he told Judah and I quote "I love you too much". Now am I the only one that noticed this? How weird was that?

No man, I think in that instance it's more than acceptable for a referee to say something like that, those words stay with fighters and they need to hear something like that when they just got stopped. Kinda weird when it's on pen and paper but when it's blood and guts like that, so intense shit like that comes out and I know what he means when he says it.

People have been making a big deal about this.

I have nothing against Arthur M.
I don't care about the shiet he did in the past or the things that happend in past fights he was working.

Arthur did a great job in the Judah/Baldomir fight.
    He kept Judah from cheating
He sure did keep Judah in check again against Cotto.

We are like family is right.

They are all in the boxing business.

He did not want the Judah camp to go crazy.

Might not have sounded right but I know what he was talking about.

I love you too much to watch you get destroyed?

Did he not have to go thru one death in the ring already?

He stopped the fight at the right time.

    Judah was done and running.

    Cotto would have killed Judah.

Calzaghe fight was premature. This fight was just right.

I think Judah hates this ref.
If you ask Judah I am sure he won't think he was shown any favortism. On the contrary, he thinks the Rerf was all over his azz and bugging him for anything he was trying to do.

Oh he did a hell of a job. I thought it was a great stoppage. I just thought it was kind of weird to hear a referee say those words thats all. But with out a doubt he did a hell of a job of letting them fight. A hell of a job no question.

No he has priors for saying the wrong things.
He told a fighter that he could quit a fight and still win because he was ahead on the cards.

    I agree with Danny_G

I remember thinking the ref did a great job. The fight could've potentially got out of control but he kept calm and laid down the rules.

The stoppage was perfect time as well.

He was just letting zab know he didn't want to see him take anymore of a beating... kind of like "man to man you have had enough"

No way was zab going to strangle him ...after hearing "I love you"

What I don't like is apparently Judah himself is being critical of the ref now...he looked very relieved when the fight was stopped and even gave mercante a pat on the back when he stopped it.

Is Judah really being that critical? I have not seen any verified reports of it, but I havent looked.

Despite giving credit to Cotto, Judah also had his share of excuses: "I got hit with two hard low blows. It did a lot to me. I got a lot of swelling on the back of my head." He also complained about referee Arthur Mercante Jr., who by most ringside accounts, did an excellent job at maintaining control of the fight under difficult circumstances: "[After going down from the second low blow] he told me to get up because 'you can't win the fight on the ground.'"

Zab also felt the referee's actions favored Cotto's style: "Every time I would tie him up on the inside, I just kept hearing my name and I was frustrated." He continued, "[The ref would say,] "Stop grabbing Zab, I'm gonna take a point." He also pointed to the mysterious disappearance of some of Team Judah's equipment: "Someone came to the corner and stole my endswell and my team bucket with my endswell so we had no endswell to rub on the cut."

    =================================

If you watch the fight. The endswell is around the neck of one of the cornermen.
The endswell is visible throught the entire fight except the third.
They were passing the endsell back and forth and one of those fat bastards lost it.
The bucket was not stolen like Judah claims either.
I saw the endswell again in the later rounds so Zab is so full of shiet his teeth are brown.

I would say you took the words outta my mouth but you elaborated on things I was not even aware of... CC man!
