Thread: What If George Foreman Would Of Beat Jimmy Young ??

I see this as interesting because alot of fights could of been made a rematch with Ali a fight with Holmes rematch with Norton possible fight with Shavers a fight with Cobb also sadly of course this never happened because Foreman got outboxed by Young but in your opinions how would Foreman have fared against rematch with Ali Holmes Shavers ect your opinions please guys and girls.

This is a good question. I think if Foreman would have beat Young, he would have ended up fighting a guy like Weaver and being champion at the same time as Holmes and setting up in 1981 a big fight with Holmes with Larry winning a decision and George retiring.

I think he would have yeah. But it probably matters how big Foreman got in popularity. My guess is that yeah Ali would fight him again and probably beat him in a boring decision this time. But I think you are right about Holmes beating that version of George. George seemed to lack a certain motivation which later he seemed to get when he was past 40. Didn't he seem to almost learn more from not fighting than being in the ring in the years 1977-1987? It seems like he thought about what it took to be a big force in boxing and came back a different guy. Even his motivation seemed more.

Easy answer is he would have another win on his record instead of a loss

The question about George and the Jimmy Young fight has always intrigued people. Yet I think the religious experience would have happened eventually with George. His trainer at the time said it was due to exhaustion and not an "experience".
