    Round 9:

Olusegun had a rest last round, he might look to finish it. Nice body shot catches Reid on the way in. They trade jabs. Right hook from way wide catches Reid. Big right from Reid, and a simultaneous left from Olusegun, but Olusegun fumes and comes forward with some big body shots and hooks, and this is both fighters looking tired and wounded now. Good right from reid, and another. They clinch, and Olusegun pings in two shots to the head. Body shots from Olusegun, but reid ploughs straight through with a hook. Olusegun is circling Reid, and throws a jab. REid coming forward, and Olusegun hasn't looked too comfortable under that all night.

    Olusegun's round,
    89-82

    Round 10:

Reid was really rocked by that shot in the last round, and he showed guts to pull through it. Olusegun is not clowing too much anymore, and I think his respect is building. Olusegun is still shooting from the outside. Good right from Reid, but gets caught by Olusegun as well with a good shot. Body shots from olusegun. Reid gets him in the corner with two body shots. Some short hooks from Olusegun, and Reid is leaning on that shoulder in the clinch. Olusegun swinging and missing with a few bingo punches now. Right hand from Reid, and a wide looping left misses by a distance. Olusegun is without a doubt the class act of the pair in skills, but Reid has more balls than a soccer team.

    99-91

    Round 11:

Olusegun starting to tee off straight from the bell, with body shots and hooks upstairs. REid plouhs forward again, landing a right, then missing with a big left.. Olusegun throwing body shots, and REid gets in another few shots. Olusegun locks into a standoff position with his shoulder forward, and he can mouth all he wants but his style won't sell to many tickets. He's clowning again. Give him a slap Reidy. Olusegun does a little shuffle before popping a jab into Reid's gloves.

    109-100 for Olusegun

    Round 12:

It's time for Reid to look for the big KO, but I think he'll be pleased with himself whatever. Big right hook lands from Olusegun. Olusegun holding his hands high, then moves into the gladiator stance. Good left from Olusegun. Reid rattled a little, right hook from Reid as Olusegun comes in. Olusegun unloading the big right hands, and low swooping uppercuts landing in the chest area. Good straight right again from Olusegun. Olusegun clowns a bit again, but won't win him any fans. Personally I'm delighted Reid never went down and didn't back off at all, and he can be chuffed with that.

119-109 to Olusegun on my card.

Early on it looked like Olusegun was going to make short work of Reid, but he never managed to put him down, and only really rattled him with that left in the ninth, and I must confess that all that clowning around has really put me offthis guy. If he hadn't been so bust dancing like an idiot he might have finished Reid off.

A really good eight-rounder was seen by Tshifiwa Munyai and Harry Ramogoadi, as Munyai stepped up two weights to Bantamweight, and they were trading all the way to the final bell, and although Munyai showed patches of class where he really was a different level to Ramogoadi, Ramogoadi wanted to try and trade and fought well out of a defensive stance. There were some boos when Munyai was given the decision, although he was the better man in there.

77-75 to Munyai which seemed a pretty fair result, although he did look a little unmotivated.

Reid is alot better than his record suggests, nice fight for Olusegun. I hope he gets regular fights he has the talent.

Tonight's bout is between Nigerian hot prospect Ajose Olusegun (I already know I am going to f**k up his name about 50 times) against Midlands area title holder Gary Reid. The scores on the boards for the vacant title are:

Ajose Olusegun (19-0, 10KOs) - Olusegun is one of the hot prospects to come out of Nigeria, although he has been fighting over here for a few years now. He's coming off a shutout points win over an eastern european journeyman, Vladimir Khodokovski in March, but his most notable victories have been over Bradley Pryce in Newport, Wales, and a KO of Ali Nuumbembe last year. The one concern might be that his only twelve round outing was against a novice for the African title in 2004.

Gary Reid (13-16-1, 8KOs) - Reid's TV exposure on the undercard of the Eastman-Ashira fight in an impressive five round KO of Dean Hickman really propelled him into this fight, as he defeated a contender to get thrust into the limelight for this fight. That outing was less than two months ago, where he showed guts and power to win that fight, and must have jumped at the chance to get this chance at a Commonwealth title. Whether he'll have had enough time to prepare might be the question, but I'm sure the little man will have had plenty of experience in going into fights short notice, and I think he'll surprise a few people.

The bookies have Olusegun as a massive favourite at 1/16, with Reid being considered a punchbag at 7/1 but nothing is certain in boxing.

Elsewhere on the card we have Commonwealth Bantamweight champion Tshifiwa Munyai in a keep busy bout at Featherweight, and the return of John McDermott at Heavyweight. Tune in at 10pm UK time, 5pm EST.
    Heres another super.
