I hate to break it to ya...but Kellerman could turn out to be twice the personality of Merchant.

Kellerman's younger, more enthusiastic, & he's loaded with knowledge & love of the game.

Also...he's new to an audience of HBO's size & he's also got a lot more telee space than he had on ESPN2.

I think in time he'll do fine.

I like Kellerman but the HBO crew needs to really sit back and report rather than jump to conclusions....I mean tonight it went from Hatton-JLC will be the fight of the year to JLC is washed up and passed it.......

Don't fucking take the wind out of YOUR BOY'S sails right after a huge fucking win!!!!! Hatton fights on HBO....you don't criticize his opponent (who is a DAMN good fighter to begin with) after a win like that...you sell Ricky short, let the fans decide who is done and who isn't.

Ricky is a class act, he honored his fans and Diego Corrales tonight, it was great....no fight of the year but hell you never know when something like that will happen....after Gatti-Ward and Corrales-Castillo you just see styles and expect the fight to be that good.....we were spoiled by those matches

    Well said.

One question...did you almost blow a load in your pants when he came out in that electric blue sombrero?

You know you wanted that bitch didn't you?

Lampley has always called out imaginary punches he sees thrown, basically saying what ever pops into his mellon...he always tries to create imaginary controversy and if Lamps was watching the fight instead of fixing his hair he would have noticed that Castillo was warned twice before having a point deducted...again Lampley has no business calling pro fights, imo

I feel sorry for Manny having to sit next to these two fools...HBO knows how to do it right and all they have to do is look at the Mallinaggi - Ndou fight and the way it was handled expertly by Bob Poppa and the way he called the action while using Lennox and Merchant appropriately...
CC promoter. I noticed the same thing. Kellerman was terrible. Kellerman would say something and Emanual would correct him and then Lampley would just say the same thing both those guys were saying over. They all were doing the same role. Then Harold Lederman was commentating also and it was a big mess. I hope Kellerman does not stay with HBO. That was a terrible call to hire him. And I agree why would he mention if Castillo was washed up? That really makes HBO look good when he says the big fight they have been advertising was not worth it because Castillo was a shot fighter.

in my mind he is annoying. Merchant has a certain rare quality to him which we will not see again. Guys now want to jump on the bandwagon of an upset all the time. Castillo is a good fighter who fought a great fight. HBO tried to make it sound like he is great. Emanaul sort of straightened that out.

Spot on ! Kellerman is a horrible listen. Max looks and acts a muff . He comes out with bogus accusations and pushes it off as fact, He read a lot books about boxing and that’s it ! truth be told I would embrace anyone on this boards opinion over Kellermans ! and bank on it ! replacing Merchant with Kellerman is like taking the 505 hp 7.0 liter engine out of the Corvette and replacing it with a neon 4 cyl. HBO just keeps shooting themselves in the foot

I think Max had a bad night but he's a good guy and he does know his stuff....at least Doug Fischer isn't on HBO

What a bunch of clowns, just watched the HBO commentary. Steward was made to eat his words about Hatton and body punching. Within seconds of the fight, they were saying Castillo was shot Then Steward says I knew within the first ten seconds he wasn't right

Bunch of whoppers. As for the interview....nuff said

Manny also said Hatton's speed would kill Castillo

Kellerman's wide-eyed yelling slightly gets on my nerves. And while interviewing Hatton, I think he was annoying as he continuously mentioned Castillo's being shot. This was being heard over the PA system, and the crowd was booing every time he said it.

So which relevant questions should he have asked?

Hatton has his style and you can feel free to complain about it but hey his fans like it and you can't knock them for liking it

FYI Ricky is just as undefeated as Floyd is
believe it or not boxing is a sport just like ever other major sport and its about winning..period..floyd wins and hasn't been in a close fight since the first castillo fight...who gives a shit what the fans want giving the fans what they want gives you a loss..so because floyd is technically better than hatton he's not exciting? who cares about skilled bar fighting..barrera is exciting but you don't see him holding and wrestling all night long...so was morrales, is pacman, is cotto, hatton isn't like either of them...and you like many will see if he goes to 147 he will lose to mosley, pbf, and cotto...

and as far as going for kayo's..hatton is still fighting at his natural weight..floyd has moved up 4 weight divisions in four years... kinda hard to kayo guys naturally bigger than you...as hatton found out against collazo and immediately moved back down even though he said he'd give collazo a rematch...
