Default Is Hatton ever going to fight Witter and should he?

I still cannot believe that Castillo went out like that, but he's been through a lot of shat, and proven he's a warrior time after time, so I can't judge him too harshly I guess. Anyway I have not seen Witter fight in years, since he fought Judah, but I have heard and read that he's improved a lot, gotten himself a title and beaten quality guys like Ndou and Corley. He hates Hatton too, and Hatton don't like him either. Still, I'd like to see them fight, but will it happen and does Witter deserve the shot?

First, I suggest watching more of Witter.

Second, Hatton took the piss out of him because he (Witter) stuck his head between the ropes and tried to fuck up one of Ricks interviews after one of his fights. Rick was asked who was out there to face....the interviewer names some names and then Witter stuck his head through the ropes and said "and theres me of course" and Ricky pointed behind him and said (after the Judah fight Witter had) "...oh yeah, and 'Lord of the dance' here" Witter took a few seconds to get the joke and got pissed off. It was great.

Witter has never had the fans and has been in Rickys shadow for years. The fight with Castillo was strange because Witter has not been running to the media as usual. Maybe he has given up or the media have told him to shut up.

Thats how it all started really.

Yes it was the Hatton/Thaxton fight that Witter interrupted the interview to try and call Ricky out. Hatton would smash Witter to bits, it would take him a few rounds to get used to Witters unorthodox style but eventually he would catch up with him and Ko his arse!! Imop Hatton has got a lot of bigger fish to fry out there like Cotto, Mayweather, ODLH, Mosely etc.

Thanks for that, Thaxton fight. I kept thinking Thaxton but was not sure.

Witter is a bollocks fighter. Britain's most overrated fighter. If Witter was the best we had...I'd seek alternative citizenship. A real dickhead if ever there was one.

Witter deserves his shot at Hatton though if Hatton does'nt move upto 147 for the really big names.

I think Hatton will end up fighting the winner of Harris-Witter in England hopefully at the end of the year and then a mammoth clash with Cotto next year in Vegas. You heard it here first.

If Witter looks impressive in defeating Harris then Hatton should fight him. But it will be a matter of if there are bigger fights out there that will derail it.

Personally, I don't think that Hatton will ever fight Witter, and I don't think he should. Witter is renowned for only getting involved in snoozers, and it doesn't add up that Hatton, having finally captured the imagination with a fantastic entertaining bout would want to go in with a poor man's Floyd Mayweather....although PBF and Witter do share the ability to spout off.

I think the big question isn't really about his ability, cause there's no doubt he's great at boxing off the back foot, frustrating fighters and picking them off, but the question is whether he can be involved in a proper entertaining fight, otherwise it won't make sense cause people won't pay to watch it. Why is WWE more succesful than Greco-Roman wrestling? Cause it is entertaining, and boxing needs entertaining fights, not just fantastic boxers who don't get involved but box their way to wins.

Why does he?? Because he has asked for a fight for the past 5 years?? Because he beat Ndou (the guy who losses everytime he fights someone with any minute bit of skill. Because he beat the worst most shot version ever of corley, in the most boring fight ever witnessed by a live audience? Why?? Why??

Because he's called out Hatton for years because he's on an unbeaten run since his loss to Judah because he's WBC champ and mainly because theirs no one else left at lightwelterweight so its either a british fight with Witter or upto 147 for Cotto,Mayweather,Mosely and Margerito.

i think it should happen to put the outcome to bed once and for all.
but i dont think it will generate enough money for Ricky so he may go elsewere.
And dont know if you have thought of this but as say with Paul Hodkinson he didnt want any part of Steve Robinsons WBO title , then he lost to Vargas and the fight was on ,
so if Htton is defeated by say Cotto , THE FIGHT MAY HAPPEN THEN , BUT AS LONG AS rICKY IS UNBEATEN I CANT SEE IT HAPPENING

While I very rarely do this...I totally agree with TBruno on this one.

While I'd love to see Hatton fight Cotto or Mayweather...I'd rather him fight Witter & pull out all the stops on a unification run.

Hatton is best suited at 140lbs. Make a run of it.

Well ive been calling out a lad who i work with for years, doesnt mean he has to fight me does it? He cannot generate any kind of publicity himself so always uses hatton to get some.

Who has he beaten to become WBC champ and who has he beat since he had it??

What does witter bring to the table for a fight with hatton except the WBC belt (which should be hattons anyway seen as though kostya never lost it in the ring and hatton beat him)

He brings no fan base, No TV money, no excitement, no one on his entire opponent list who is worth anything of note. So realistically the only reason he has for fighting hatton is just becasue he has called him out for publicity a few times He has no case, he is not worth shit!

Would floyd fight someone like torres (wbo champ@140) if say he has been calling him out for a few years??

Hatton is in the big money league now, Witter earns about the same as matthew hatton does for a fight. it wont happen and shouldnt happen IMO
