Default I'm watching Jones Ruiz and i just wanna say

i just wanna say that if jawnny had of let his hands go more like he did against jones he might would have gotten i alot more respect instead of becomming one of the most hated boxers of are time. i showed some good head movement in the fight also.

Ruiz's best night of boxing was against Jones. He probably trained harder for that fight than any other.
Pity about the rest of his career

Ruiz was a good fighter, but the fact he was champion means there was a very weak division at the time... You cannot have a guy as good as Lennox as one champion and then Ruiz as another whom Jones says he beat to win a title. Lennox was the real champion and he would have knocked out Ruiz in 2 or 3. Lennox would have stopped Jones in 4 or 5

Lennox was great.. But the way you match up theyr performances is like well they all get ko'd so ruiz is worse then roy ruiz lasts 3 and roy lasts 6..

Thats pretty one tracked ..Roy lasts the distance and ruiz gets stopped mid to late..

he beat the WBA heavyweight champion...

and if that's the case lennox lewis wasn't the champ because he didn't beat michael moore for the belt nor did he beat tyson for the belt...he beat holyfield who collected the two belts from them...

U no i love roy, Damn, u no i wanna be roy! But as regards heavyweight, IMO it's what u do with ur title that makes u a champion, Lennox defended.

    Roy didn't.

no way was roy a real heavyweight..but he did win the WBA championship..and will at least in the history of that sanctioning body be recognized as a heavyweight champion....

and he for damn sure wasn't defending that belt because within two weeks of the fight the WBA said he had to defend his title against WVladimir Kiltchko within a year or he'd be stripped....

Roy Jones Jr would never have fought Lewis. He is six foot five and 200lb plus and was a true heavyweight champ who could box and throw big punches. Jones Jr would have no business against someone like that and he knows it thats why it never happened. It's not right to put Ruiz and Lewis in the same sentence when discussing if Jones Jr could have been a Heavyweight contender. Beating Ruiz is one thing but Lewis is another league.

You can put a lot more logic into it back and forth, but the above comment sums it up for me too. When you think of any way you can put it, you just get that 'feeling' that the above sums up pretty much prefect. I wouldn't have liked to see Roy in the ring with Lewis. It would NEVER have happened. And their is a reason why.
