I've gone with Gomez. Changed my mind. I don't think Gatti can do it anymore. I hope I'm wrong, because I want Chavez Jr. to be the one to beat him.

Gomez is a tune up fight, nothing more.Originally Posted by bzkfn

Take away gomez's last 2 fights against fellow bums and you have a 14-3-2 record fighter with 5 ko's (a slightly better than 33% ko ratio is gonna ko gatti? ). He has no business fighting even a washed up world level fighter. If he wasn't on a tv show where he beat a then undefeated manfredo (who turned out to be an even more overrated fighter) you would be sitting here today bilbo and calling him a bum just like everyone else.
Baldimors ko percentage isn't much higher and he annihilated Gatti. Gomez is too big. To my knowledge Gatti has only ever beaten a single 147 lb fighter and that was Damgaard. Gomez has held his own as high as 160 lb, is several years younger and has not been in the wars Gatti has.Originally Posted by Punisher136
I'm not saying that Gomez is a better fighter than Gatti any more than I'm saying Zahir Ramheem is a better fghter than Morales.
Still Gatti is done, is fighting someone too big and will get his ass handed to him yet again.
We shall see.Originally Posted by Bilbo
Baldimor proved you don't need power to beat Gatti, just be naturally bigger and pressure him. Gomez can do that.Originally Posted by Violent Demise
Gatti wins on the cards. Gomez will be outclassed as all the Contender fighters have been and will be as they step up. Baldimor is much better than Gomez (handed Zab his azz) . You cant compare the two. You know Zab would destroy Gomez.
Who did he fight near 160 pounds? Season 1 contender bums, thats it. As shot as gatti maybe be, we're taking about gomez. We ain't even talking about a good fighter, fighters that gatti has beaten already thruout his career, we're talking about gomez. Gotta love A.I.Originally Posted by Bilbo

Ok I'll accept your sig bet also. We can plan what we want the others to say nearer the time.Originally Posted by Punisher136
There are no impressive wins on Gatti's record unless you count Mickey Ward or Jesse James Leija, he's basically lost to every decent fighter he's ever faced.
Gomez ain't much I'll give you that but truth be told you don't need to be much to beat Gatti. Any world class fighter from 140 - 147 would beat Gatti's ass right now and a decent journyman fighter like Gomez should be able to beat him fairly comfortably also.
Gatti's only chance is to stay on the outside and box, but Gomez's boxing skills ain't too bad, remember he was boxing Felcianco's head off for the first 5 rounds in their last fight and he outboxed Manfredo who whether you rate him or not was still ranked number 3 in the world by the WBO when they fought.
Has Gatti ever even defeated a world ranked fighter?
I'm presuming he must have in order to have won two titles but he's certainly not done it in the past 5 or 6 years.
i'm sorry but at this point and time i think that Chavez Jr. is WAY too big for Gatti and that Chavez will pummel him with that beautiful left hook to the body and back to the head comboOriginally Posted by Tam Seddon

I dont no, it would be close i suppose. But i just think Gatti is just too good for him at this stage of his carrer. I think it would be Gattis last fight and that would give him a good acentive to win!Originally Posted by ElTerribleMorales
Gatti still has all his power. the only problem was baldomire could take it, I'll bet my last dollar Gomez cant
Gatti Ko
Not only that Gatti will give Chavez a few problems
