Default Joel Julio vs. Cornelius Bundrage - WNF

    http://www.fightnews.com/fightnews_2...EEPxNaArd.html

July 11th. Thoughts? I like what they are doing with Julio,he was schooled by Quintana so they are rebuilding him slowly, taking their time. He is only 22,no need to rush. I just hope he is using these fights to gain experience and improve rather than do the same thing over and over)ie blast through his opponents)

Julio showed a very improved jab in his last fight. He looks to have learned some things. I think he's going to destroy Bundrage pretty easily.

Yeah I noticed that too,I'd like to see him use more head movement too. He still has the tools to be dangerous. I'd like to see a fight with Berto at some point.

After seeing the Cotto - Quintana fight, I bet he's happy he lost..LOL just kidding. I would love to see a fight with Berto as well. It would be great for both and from there the winner should get a big name fight. Berto should start stepping it up like Joel Julio did.

Honestly I think the only time I've seen Bundrage was the Sechew Powell fight which was hilarious. I didn't watch the Contender at all the year he was on it, If i've seen him besides that I've forgotten it.

Not too high on Julio really. It seems more than a few people have commented on him looking better in the last fight but was he fighting anybody?

Berto is fighting Cosme Rivera next, someone who gave Julio a tough tough fight but Rivera was blown away by Judah so it will be a good test for him.

Thats the thing, they want him to fight these lower quality guys so he can work on his basics. He has been able to get by on raw power alone before the Quintana fight. Now,he is working on his jab etc. He's still young,I don't think they need to rush him at all.

Good match up here. Really liking this one..... From what I've seen from both it looks like Julio better sharpen up his jab cause Bundrage is gonna come forward with pressure....

Looking at the up coming matches looks like the contenders are starting to get their heads clear and are finally facing eachother....

    Bojado vs. Forbes
    Julio vs. Bundrage
    Mora vs. Ouma

Bundrage has shown that he's a good spoiler. I'm sure he can frustrate Julio, holding on,tying him up and leaning on him, the usual Ricky Hatton approach. Bundrage is pretty good at adopting such tactics and if the referee is lenient this could well end up being one ugly brawl of a fight.

Much depends on Bundrage's chin but if he can stand up to Julio's power then I'd say it could be a very long night for the Columbian.

Bundrage is a difficult guy to look good against and Julio may actually see his stock diminish further after this.

    I can smell an upset.

K9 has a style of his own. He can make fighters look bad. He's a tough guy that likes to fight & is always in shape. Having said that I beleive that this fight will be abarn burnerthat Julio will be able to take advantage of some of K9's technical flaws. My pick-Julio, possible late rd. stoppage.

That jab looks beautiful on Julio. He's been training with Breland and Whitaker, think it showed his last time out?

Problem is Bundrage is such an awkward guy. I can't really describe it, but he never fights the same. He's always changing the way he fights throughout the bout. Can't really describe it and have no video on him anymore.

Having problems matching them up in the head, but if Julio keeps improving then he is going to do big things.

Can't wait for this one. I'm going to try my best to watch it. If not then D/l definitely. I love watching a fighter improve. It just shows a lot when a guy not only improves, but improves on what he needs to improve on. The competition wasn't stellar, but that doesn't matter, Julio looked awesome his last time out.

Yo dude.... This fights awesome!!!! Beats HBO's stupid B.A.D.

Brundage is bad mistake in terms of development. Julio's going to have a rude awakening.

Lets hope Julio has what it takes, because this fight has the makings of a good FNF battle.

Just because Quintana was punished by Cotto does'nt mean that he's not a very good fighter. Sure, Julio was Carlos. But there are way worst things from lesser fighters that can happen than that.

I do think that this fight has the potential to be a very very fight to the eye. I lean toward Quintana.

Hahaha, I thinhe's trying to say that Quintana is no slouch and it's not like Julio was beat by a bum. And I agree completely, I think Quintana might be the best fighter on Cotto's record.

Anyways, I had a laundry list of probems with Julio before his last outing and he pretty much erased them. Now to see if he can do it against serious opposition. If he can then 147 is just stacked.
