Interesting thought but I don't think Evander's got it to beat Wlad, Chagaev or Maskaev

Hall of Fame broadcaster Colonel Bob Sheridan called the Evander Holyfield vs Lou Savarese bout last Saturday and feels that the "Real Deal" has what it takes to win the world heavyweight title again.

Wlad would beat Evander pretty bad.

i honestly think he can beat maskaev ass, ibragmiov ass, chaaev ass, and he has a chance to beat wlad, he def has a punchers chance no matter wat noone sais, amean belive it ro not he didnt look to bad lately

I think Wlad would whoop Evanders arse no doubt. But I would give him a chance against any of the other champs at the moment. If peter wins in Sep then I'm pretty sure he would KO Evander though. I would still like to see Evander win another belt then hang the gloves up though. Fellas, please don't make the mistake of forgetting what he looked like against James Toney in 2003 & Larry Donald in 2004. I have as much respect for Holyfield's accomplishments as anyone. He was & is a true warrior but his time has passed.

I would hate to see him fight Wlad for fear that he could get seriously injured. He actually may be able to beat Maskaev but that belt will be gone from Oleg's mantle before Evander would get the chance to try (Peter is going to take him out). I would'nt totally count Holy out against Ibragimov or Chagaev but it's HIGHLY unlikely that he would pull out a W against either of them.

It's good that he's still making some $$$ but I can't beleive that he is going to be a better fighter tomorrow that he was in 03 and 04.

To close this post I do give Evander props on a spirited fight against Savarese. But does anyone expect anything other than 100% from Holy? I don't.

The thing with Evander is he's such a surprise packet. I thought he was finished after Bowe stopped him but he comes back to beat Tyson twice. Amazing.

I agree with that. He can never be counted out. He's highly skilled & has the heart of a lion. But against the upper echelon HW's I just don't see it happenin.

It's not that I would'nt like to see him accomplish the feat of gettin another Championship & being able to walk away like that. He definitely deserves it IMO. He was one of the guys that I looked at & always respected as a fighter. And I don't want to see him get hurt. He was a great Champion & deserves better.

Won't get a chance to fight Oleg. Why do u u beleive that he would beat Ibragimov & Chagaev? Based on what?

I do beleive that he would have a shot against both of them so don't take these questions the wrong way. Just wondering how u drew your conclusions.

Evander looked good against Savarese and while Lou wouldn't beat Sultan or Ruslan you have to factor in Evander's huge heart in a title fight.

His heart is unquestioned & I it was in my factoring but that's the thing that scares me about Evander the most. At a point there is such A thing as too much heart for your own good & too good of a chin for your own good. It can get u an unnecessary beating/serious injury.

And lets not forget, Chagaev & Ibragimov are slated to fight each other. If he's lookin for a title then this fight will narrow it down even more to try to make a good matchup for a title fight.

Evander looked good against Savarese(another old man)but against Sultan or Ruslan they are young hungry lions he would lose. I do feel he would give it his all but that wouldn't be enough, the only chance he would have is if one of them would stand still and go toe to toe remember big George was way behind on all the cards when Michael Moorer stopped moving and started trading then bam game over,Sultan or Ruslan don't stand still.

If evander wnats any chance if getting a title before his days are out he needs to fight the winner of Chagaev & Ibragimov - with oleg fighting petetr and the winner fighting klit, then the wbc will prolly throw ina bullshit mandatory, he wont get a shot of the wbc... and as for wlad? no chance in hell

To get back in the top ten Evander should fight the winner of the Matt Skelton-Michael Sprott fight that may be his only chance to the top ten.Now the top 15, he could fight Hasim Rahman.
