Default Will RJJ fight be one of the least profitable PPV fights in history????

We have had fights not worthy of PPV before. But not on the same day of a MEGA HBO Championship Boxing night that is FREE.

With all due respect for the great Roy Jones Jr. Even in his prime he was never the great crowd pleaser, his awe inspirering skill is fading faster than his popularity and he is up against one of the best fight cards HBO has televised in recent memory with three fights practically guaranteed to be crowd pleasers.

How many of you will actually buy this PPV event?

me either what a horrible weekend for this type of fight. With as busy as this weekend is with good free fights i think they won't get nearly as many ppv buys to make it worth the trouble but i also agree with the person earlier there are a ton of rjj fans that will fork out the cash....i gotta just find one of them and get over there and check it out for free..

With all due respect to those hard core fans.
But they musta forgot!! That RJJJ ain't the same no more.
What's funny about this is a month ago or so Hanshaw was on Sho:Box Next Gen. now all of a sudden hes fighting on PPV against RJJ. Talk about robbing people, I mean save your money with that money go out by some beer and chips and enjoy the FREE fights on HBO.

For the record I think Fidays Mijares (WBC Super Flyweight Champ) fight might be one of the lowest profitable PPV events. Not only is he NOT a mega star but the PPV is priced at 20 dlls.
No fanbase for Mijares + a low price of 20 dlls. = low profits

Wonder how much profit Duddy makes with his little PPV events.

I think its incredibly stupid for Jones promotion team to have made the fight for this weekend with the great HBO card bein shown for free. I doubt it will do very well at all. Man, those Duddy PPV events are even more of a fukin joke though, I mean John Duddy, a PPV attraction?!

You could be right BUT not many people know Mijares and I also forgot to mention this is on Dish, not cable.
    Just my thoughts anyway.

100,000 people buying this PPV They'll be lucky if they get 1000 people who care enough about the result to log onto Boxrec.com the next day, let alone buy the F****** PPV. Jesus Christ.
