Default Can mayweather still make 140?

Now before i start don;t take this as a mayweather should go to hatton...

But, can mayweather still make 140? i see no reason why he can't.. aslo people are forver saying he was best at 135/140....

    second question..

will anyone be slightly pissed off if shit hits the fan and mayweather refuses to go down to 140 and the fight doesnt happen? Now end of hatton called him out and i would be pissed off if they difht didnt happen coz ricky wudnt step up.. but right now is ee no reason why mayweather can't make 140, so i would be honestly a lil pissed with mayweather if he didn't go down, it would be a shame for his pride to get in the way of this

On a last note, mayweather was never the undisputed champa t 140, tszyu was, and ricky beat him, mayweather beat gatti... this would be a chance for him to become undipusted at 140... more to gain really than fighting at 147, + beating ricky at his own weight...

I couldn't really care much about this fight. I'm not a fan of Hatton or his grappling skills. If he fights Floyd it's just another Gatti, Baldomir type beatdown, probably half way between the two.

Floyd will get no credit afterwards and people will moan about him not facing the real contenders like Cotto and Mosely.

I know this becuase I will be one of those critics

I don't think PBF would have any problem at all with fighting at a comfortable 140.

The thing is, if he beats Hatton at 140, then what?
    He's stuck with a title at 140.

Right now he has the 147 WBC title still if I'm not mistaken.
Looking forward the value for future dollars in a fight is much
bigger at 147 compared to 140

Look at the big names in the divisions (guys that depending on their next fights could merit a PPV)

    147
    Cotto
    Margarito
    Williams
    Cintron
    Berto
    Mosley

    140
    Hatton
    Malignaggi
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I don't see any reason why Maywether could not make 140. He's always in great shape and I have no doubt that he could make that weight.

That sais, I don't think he should go down to 140. All the action is at 147 and if Hatton wants a peace of it, he should step up to the plate.

Finally, I really don't buy any of that crap about Hatton not being willing to move up to 147. He's just bluffing to see if Maywether's Ego gets in the way of his brain and choose to fight Hatton at his division jst to show him who's the man and that he could beat him anytime anywhere and at any weight.

Personally, I don't think it would make a lick of difference. Hatton is a good fighter, he will give PBF a tough fight at any weight but Maywether will do his thing, cover and pot shot to another boring UD victory. What will win this for Hatton is not weight, it is stamina and pressure. He needs to flat out outwork Floyd for 12 full rounds and hope the judges see it his way for more than half of those rounds.

Hatton has gassed in two of his last three fights. Against Castillo we never got a chance to see how much stamina he had. Floyd has never gassed out in a fight, ever.

Floyd will beat Hatton in the early, middle and late rounds, as well as at the pre and post fight conference.

Well I never said he could do it. I just said that's what he needs to do to win. I never said I would put any money on Hatton to win eather

VD I expect that of you. It was more aimed at the people who also live in the real world.

You dont believe it because you dont want to. Just like you wanted to believe that Kelson Pinto had a fever rather than have himself ripped in two by Hatton a while back

It goes both ways. You want to believe that Hatton isn't a coward for promising Collazo a rematch. And than punking out

thought you were gunna get off hattons back after he whooped your boy? didn't you say you were gunna give him his respect and not view himas a coward?

So much for "VD giving fighters their due"

you'll prolly keep quiet about joe being a 'coward' after he fights kessler to, well atleast untill hes 45, been retired for 8 years and someone else calls him out that is...

I did give him his due. He beat a not in his prime Castillo. Good for him. Doesn't change past events.
