Thank God there are others on this board who don't think PBF in any shape or form "schooled" Oscar. If Oscar had kept his jab going and fought behind that...he could have won an already close fight. He was at one point reading and blocking Floyd's punches and was able to pepper Floyd with his jab when he threw it. But for some bizarre reason he completely gave up on the jab in the latter rounds. Love him or hate him...Oscar has never been schooled in his career (with the possible exception of the Hopkins fight...and even in that fight he was holding his own until the body shot dropped him). I feel like he has fallen in love with trying to hurt people with the left hook too much in the latter part of his career. But when he wants...the man is as skilled a boxer as there is in the business.

Hes too inactive, his stamina ain't gonna get any better and unless he finds someone whos gonna stand there in front of him to get hit then hes gonna get beat.
He stopped throwing the jab, not because it wasn't a night of the jab but because he couldn't let his jab go anymore I'm sure he wanted to throw it but his body wouldn't respond to it.

He retires now and goes on about his promtion business.
Agreed 100% Mick have a cc. Oscar went from looking like a young guy to an old man in that fight. You could actually see him get old in that ring. I thing that was what he had left and Im afraid if he continues well see a very different diminished Oscar in his next fight. He needs to retire.

He looked like an old man?! He wasn't throwing the jab because he was tired?! Quite ridiculous comments. No question Oscar isn't in his prime...but he is not washed up. Remember...he was chasing Floyd nearly the entire night and often made the mistake of just trying to unload on him on the ropes. But despite that...i actually think his stamina held up better than it had in recent fights. Anyways, fighters like Hatton and Cotto would be easy pickings for him. He is stronger and far more skilled than both of them...even at this stage of his career.

Please don't ever compare those 2 fighters.
I better go to bed now before my night is ruined more.

CC#216 on me BoomBoom I'm just calling it how I see it.
I'm not saying ODLH was schooled or beaten badly by PBF.
All I'm saying is I've followed ODHLs career closely and from the begining I personally think he shouldn't fight anymore.

Would you care to explain/elaborate then why it is that ODLH stopped throwing the jab?
A vet. like ODLH who has been in how many Championship fights and against what type of opposition under how many bright lights?

Unless you actually believe when he said 'It wasnt the night of the jab'

His arms were tired and he couldn't set his feet add that to the slickness of PBF and it was taking it's toll on him.

Think back to his fights against Quartey, Tito and Vargas remember the in between rounds/resting periods. Their in the ODLH corners shaking his hands, massaging his legs, slapping his thighs, pouring water on his legs. (Not necessairly in all those things in all the fights but they did do one or the other in each fight)

Of all the old veteran fighters out there Oscar has probably slipped the least. He's never been beat up, dominated or outclassed, hell Hopkins aside he's only ever lost one fight by UD and that was by only 2 points on all scorecards to Mosely in a fight most felt Oscar won.

I can't see a single argument for saying he should hang them up. He's still a major force in the game and nobody, and I mean nobody is going to just walk through Oscar.

Fights with guys like Cotto and Williams, maybe even Margarito and Judah would be huge and Oscar is more than capable of winning any of those fights.

He's only ever lost to the world's elite, and two of those losses most felt he won.

You guys know I ain't even a fan of the anointed one but he's the biggest draw in boxing still and I personally want him to stay in the sport until he's ready to retire as he's so good for boxing.

I get what your saying baggins.... I just don't think he can physically do it.
Sometimes your head and your body don't respond the same way. Your head is telling your body to do one thing and your body is telling you 'Nope, I can't do that' and theres nothing you can do about it. I genuinely think ODLH wanted to throw the jab but couldn't he arms and body just wouldn't let him.

For the record ODLH would knock Zabs ass all the way back to Crooklyn from Vegas via Left Hook Air Born Express.

I actually beleive that ODH has alot to offer at WW. Even if it's only for 1 or 2 fghts I thik that it would be a great thing to see him there.

I find it hard to disagree with ya but i just feel that the WW division is coming along nicely and that Oscars revisit to 147 would serve only as a royal interuption
