    Default LIMOND: I BEAT KHAN

got this of frank's site to save you the hassle.

Former Commonwealth lightweight champion Willie Limond says Amir Khan should have been counted out on Saturday night.

"There's no point in appealing. The fight's over. I lost. Only now I know I didn't. I'm gutted."

    HAS HE GOT A POINT

****Modified*** - mate can you just paste a small intro to the story and then post the link from the source site *** - Thanks

Theres two ways to look at it Khan can say he followed the refs count and got up @ 9 so he shouldnt have been stopped or Limond can say he was down for 13 seconds i should have won. Tyson Douglas, Tunney Dempsey

Yes he has got a point, but whats done is done. It's not gonna change. Move on!

No referee starts the count straight away. I reckon you could go back and question most counts nowadays.

No its just an excuse! He pushed Khan and he should be proad of that. He was nakerd and was going to get KTFO! So i think Limond should try and take the positives from the fight and try and move on and get in with some more good fighters.

As soon as a boxer goes down the time keeper starts a count. Once the ref sends a boxer to a neutral corner he checks with (or should) the time keeper and continues the time keepers count. Example boxer A gets knocked down the ref sends him to a neutral corner and the time keeper could have reached the count of 5 so the refs next point of action is to say 6 to boxer B not to start the count at 1.

My point is that counts are always disputable. You could question so many of them nowadays!

The real point is that Khan was up and ready when the ref was counting and that is all he can consider. Willie missed his chance and has only himself to blame.

Exactly he might have been down for 13 seconds but thats not his fault he goes off the refs count, if the ref had counted correctly then no doubt Kahn would of been up in time as he thought he was.

Khan's inexperience showed through when he got knocked down as he jumped up again immediately (albeit a bit wobbly). He then went down on one knee again and took a longer count in order to recuperate - you can see him watching the referee's count. So, I don't agree that the result of the fight is in doubt, as Khan could have got up sooner.

Plus, like him or not, Khan came out in the next round and absolutely pasted Limond (broken jaw and perforated eardrum).

Limond's chance has gone ..... there is nothing to be gained (by Khan) in fighting him again, but an awful lot to lose.

Is this not an attempt by Limond to get a rematch.

I would think Khan would beat him more convincingly if they meet again.

Limond should forget Khan and go for Thaxton. He was the Number 1 contender according to what Thaxton is saying.

A count doesn't begin until the other boxer has gone to a neutral corner irrespective of any time keeper. And the ref doesn't check with a time keeper in any case.

No you didn't beat him, you put up a good account of yourself and it was and entertaining fight so well done for that.

I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch on this one to be honest. It will give Khan a chance to prove his doubters wrong and also give Limond a chance to prove to us what he is saying is true.

He lost, I know You can say the same thing about Buster Douglas, Mike Tyson knocked him down for about 20 seconds. And yet no one says Tyson won that fight they just use it as an opportunity to say he has no heart when someone stands up when he came back to knock Buster down, no one gives Mike credit for that or says he won the fight and got screwe(not a majority of people who like to get on Tyson)

So why shold Limond get credit over Khan?
