Default Is Mikkel Kessler the bravest champ of today?

On a few weeks notice he took a title-shot against Manny Siaca late 2004 and stopped him in 7 rounds.

In his very first title defence he went down under at defeated Mundine.

Then he took on Lucas in Copenhagen.

In his only 3rd defence of his wba title he unified against wbc champ Beyer.

Then he took on undefeated no. 1 challenger Andrade.

In his only 5th title defence Kessler is going to Wales to face Calzaghe.

A champ going abroad 2 out of 5 times is rare - especially when he is facing the Ring's no. 3 and the Ring Champ....abroad........

He's a brave viking warrior certainly. But Calzaghe is Alfred the Great to Kessler's Guthrum and he'll defeat the viking warrior in battle.

My first thought was to dismiss the argument, until I couldn't think of someone better...........
Let me know who can make the claims Kessler can.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Well Manny Pac isn't actually American, and he fought Barrera J Marquez then Morales shortly after coming to the states.. Hey, Kessler is a ballsy fighter and I think it's great that he wants to fight the best and will travel to do so. I don't think it's great that most of his fans are so incredibly stupid and creepy, like you Royal.

WTF Is that supposed to mean,,,,,Is he the bravest champion??.........

Brave as in would he run into a burning building and save an old lady?

Brave as in would he jump out of a plane with nothing but oversized boxer shorts he must tie shut at the legs on the way down to use as a parachute.......

Bravest as the biggest Atlanta Braves fan in the world so he changed his name to Bravest??./...

I mean those answers are as silly as the thread topic

Excuse the sarcasim but this question has me acting in a ROYAL way....

Mikkel Kessler is a guy who is willing to do what champions do...Defend his title against the top ranked guys in the division....

Sad part is Kessler is doing just that...WHAT A CHAMPION SHOULD DO.....He is not the only champion willing to do so though.....He just happens to have the least publicity outside of the die hard boxing circle.........So he has the least amount of promoter pull....Meaning titles or not if he wants the pay day he must travel.....

Hidden Content IN CASE THEY ALL FORGOT WHAT REAL HEAVYWEIGHT POWER WAS!!!

I wouldn't say he was brave, I'd say he's confident in his own abilities, and he likes to make money.

I think you make good points,Kessler has been brave and I also think I under rated his resume somewhat! Mundine,Beyer,Andrade,Lucas, siaca, that's a pretty decent resume!

Kessler is being very brave in that he is willing to travel and actually go into the den of the lion. I give him all the credit for that.

I just hate it when Kessler fans, or for that matter any fighters fans make it hard for geniune fans to support/back up their fav. fighters.
Cause they go around making these kind of threads/comments.

Anyone remember that idiot here whos name was something in relation to Palle? It was obvious he was on the bank roll and that he was here to stirr shit! around. But my god, for the few minutes he was here he almost made me hate Kessler due to all the shit and nonesense talk he did.

Having looked at Kessler's resume,I find it hard to choose between he or Calzaghe with regards to who has beaten the better fighters! May be I was oblivious to this before because like Mick said, the Kessler fans(much like Manny fans at the moment) made it really difficult to like the guy but I have alot of his career now and he's been to these guys backyards and beaten them.
