Default Let's Hope Morales Retires Now....

He didn't get KO'd Thank God....He lost a disputed decision but point is...This guy should not have beaten Erik Morales....Diaz is a capable kid and all but lets be honest....The Morales of 2 years ago would have walked on this kid......I think after the two KO losses to Manny and his wars of past it has all taken it's final toll on Erik.....

I am just greatful he did not get blown out last night....I just would like to see one time a great fighter take the hint that he does not belong in the ring anymore....Lets hope he does not try and fight some guy with a horrible losing record just to get one more win...then fool himself after that win thinking he still has it...Step in with a top guy and get hurt.....Something fighters seem to do......

There is one thing I will always respect Tyson for....When he lost to McBride he said...."I am not going to fight anymore. For me to lose to this caliber opponent is not just embaressing for me but it disgraces the sport and I won't do that".........

Diaz is better then McBride skill wise of course but I think the concept is the same...Now I only hope Morales realizes it as well

I second that notion. Though past his best Erik put up a better than expected showing here. For the first 6 rounds he showed more than mere flashes of what he used to be and Diaz only came into the fight as Morales slowed and threw less.

Erik did enough to win this fight and though the judges disagree, well, as far as Im concerned if he walks out now then he walks out a winner.

The sad thing is...he didn't fucking lose in my eyes. The man should have his 4 title history. This has launched Diaz's career now. The tool thinks he can unify. He'd get stomped on by most lightweights. Outside his hometown, he'll go down.

I have yet to see the fight so I can't comment on whether the decision was a robbery, or not.

As for the part I highlighted for you, Zaheer Rahim beat Morales VERY convincingly, but nobody ever thought too much of him, and he went on with his very unspectacular career without any big fights (I guess Freitas is kinda big, but not really) or any big paydays.

Erik Morales should have retired after he lost to Zaheer Rahim.

2quick 2slick Zaheer didn't really went toe to toe with Erik. That was not fun to watch. Maybe that's the reason he didn't get that much credit against Morales.

I strongly disagree. Morales clearly won the fight. He just happened to fight the best in the superfeatherweight (Pacquaio). Barrera, Marquez, Velasquez, and Morales had the same experience when they fought the Pacman. Barrera still won a title after his devastating loss to PAcquaio. Everybody was saying he needs to retire but he still won a title. Morales could have won another title had the judges been fair.

Yoyr Missing the point......When fighters of Morales Caliber ( Or the Caliber he was ) ...Start losing to guys like Raheem get KO'd twice in a row be it against a hard hitting Pacquiao or not...( especially since Morales was known to have a steele jaw)...then have a performance against a guy that allowed the judges to even be able to give a decision to...be it a bad one or not....when Morales was in his best there would have been no way they could have even considered it.....

When a great fighter becomes just another decent fighter his time has come
