Default Pretty good undercard for Vargas Mayorga

They have Giovanni Lorenzo (25-0, 17 KOs) will face veteran Fernando Zuniga (26-8, 20 KOs).
    Is Lorenzo any good?

    Kermit Cintron v Jessi Feliciano

    Roman Karmazin v Luca Messi

And Joel Julio v TBA. Not a bad card right guys?

The card might make this fight worth the $49.95 ppv.

    So I guess we agree................

for like the 3rd time ever.

Lorenzo is the guy I always forget to talk about. He's been calling out everyone at the top for a while now, and after fighting a bunch on ESPN he's kind of just been calling people out and fighting off TV. I always see him calling people out yet the only time I've seen him fight recently was on the Duddy - Bonsante undercard where he took out the guy who's jaw was wired shut by Joel Julio. He needs to get in the mix more, Zuniga is a good start.

He has good power and balance, he is a bit wild at the same time though. Combination puncher who leads with the right hand a lot. He has an absolutely icing left hook that he always puts at the end of his combinations. He's a good fighter, it'll be nice to see him get some exposure.

They were talking about in the Kamya fight how he made the guy Mora beat a while back (Archek Ter-hfsaij or something like that) throw up in between rounds from body shots. I've never really seen him go to the body but I haven't really seen him past his ESPN days either when he has become more of a contender.

Definitely a good fight though, Zuniga was just in there with Pavlik so that should definitely be a proper test for Lorenzo.

Jesse Feliciano put on one of the more spirited efforts in the year in his win over Delvin Rodriguez. In fact that is among one of my favorite fights I've seen this year. But Cintron is a class above and unless he is trying to get in rounds, this shouldn't last past the first stanza. In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's an uppercut that Feliciano gets sat down on. He was getting tagged with them for 5 rounds versus Rodriguez before finally picking his head up and looking at his opponent exhausted.

Karmazin - Spinks was one of my favorites from last year. Has Karmazin even fought since? Messi...I don't know anything about him. I'm guessing he's someone soft served for Karmazin's comeback. Karmazin is a fun fighter to watch though, he fights with that wierd stance and his hands very split and far away from his body yet he doesn't chop with his punches like Vic does or he doesn't have a huge windup like Froch. Very fun to watch him charge forward with that style.

I thought Julio might be able to make a big leap if he performed well against Bundrage. He did but he is still a guy in need of a lot of polish. He didn't work with Whitaker and Breland for his last fight and it pretty much showed. They improved him 10 fold in their 3 months with him by just putting a nice smooth jab on him, yet he didn't keep them around to teach him how to use it or a little balance. Weird. He still needs a few more fights before he gets back in that top 10 mix. I don't advocate for changing trainers much, and I don't like fighters making it big and ditching the trainers that got them there but Julio needs Breland or McGirt. Someone of that ilk to just smooth everything out. All this time, and he still doesn't ever look comfortable in the ring.

Ton of potential though. Not sure it will ever be tapped or let shine in a stacked division but we saw flashes of it 2 fights ago.

I wonder who they put him in with, whether it be a step up or someone who will lie down. If it is a test, then coupled with the Lorenzo - Zertuche and the sure KO to come from the Cintron bout, it could be a good card.

I still won't buy it just because it is about less meaningful as every other PPV card out there.

Definitely sounds like a top card although I expect one or two of these won't actually happen.

I can't believe Jesse Feliciano is getting a world title shot, good on him although I wouldn't expect it to go more than a couple rounds.

I kind of feel bad for Kermit Cintron though. This is one of the flat out most exciting fighters in the sport yet he doesn't even get co main event status on fight cards.

Hopefully he'll start getting more recognition soon a world welterweight champ shouldn't be the undercard to non title fights like Gatti Gomez.

Cintron vs. Margarito 2 is just an obvious fight that should be made.

Yup but I get a feeling that Zab Judah will be able to jump the queue and get the Margarito fight. Cintron just seems not to be popular with HBO dispite having the most impressive KO ratio of anybody at welter, he's huge for the weight and exciting as well but they have a love affair with Zab so any big fights will go his way unfortunately.

I think HBO tried to end a contract they had with Zab, but unfortunately every time they try, they speak to Yoel Judah and and because nobody understands a fucking word he says, they end up agreeing to PPV his next fight.
