    Default Floyd vs Cory Spinks?

I think the popular opinion is that if someone is going to beat Floyd, its going to be a pressure fighter like Hatton or Cotto. We've seen Castillo give Floyd his toughest fight with a similar style.

But what about Floyd against another speedy slickster? What about Floyd vs Cory Spinks at 154? I think it would be one hell of a test for Floyd, he wouldn't be able to move and pot shot Spinks at will like he does to most of the guys who follow him around the ring looking for a big shot. We saw the problems that Zab Judah posed to Floyd in their fight. Could Spinks pose problems for Floyd or even fustrate him?

Spinks is not as fast as Mayweather. And does not hit as hard as Mayweather. And his chin is weaker. I think Mayweather stops him in 8.

If they ever faced off I would go with Floyd to win but.....I have said this before on these boards...It would not be that much of a shocker if Corey beat him.....No Zab is not Floyd but in full condition on top of his game Cory can beat anyone IMO

This would be a boring fight there styles don't mix well Mayweather would win a decision but it would be an ugly fight.

the best punch to hit spinks with is the straight righthand. that PBF favorite punch.

    Spinks wouldn't beat Floyd.

I've said it over and over again.... the type of fighter who can give someone like Floyd trouble is a tall welterweight with an effective jab. Like a 2002 version of Vernon Forrest.

A jab is what really negates speed, not body punches. Look around at the welterweight division and see who fits the profile of being tall and having a long jab.... that's the fighter who would give him the most trouble.

De la hoya did good against Floyd but he had problem knocking PBF out. So DLH had problem convincing the judges that he deserves the win. Find someone with the strength to knock PBF and surely the guy can be defeated.

I would say that there are other fighters that would give Floyd more problems.

I think Spinks has the balls to fight floyd. I say balls because he was rocked by another slick boxer in Judah.

floyd would take this fight because he knows spinks wouldn't hurt him.

P.S. had to wake up twice in order to keep typing this post.

At light middle Spinks wins so would Winky, and even a seasoned Oscar would have beaten Floyd, who did amazing well considering he has never fought at this weight and shows he is a great fighter but not his natural weight and he would be beat by Spinks and Winky Wright. Spinks lost to Judah because he was struggling at the welterweight limit and he gave Taylor hell at middleweight, he would be too big for Floyd. Mother nature and genetics cannot be defied to suit.

This fight would bore the tits off me. Floyd would keep his distance at 154, and Cory would be running around for most of it. I'd put money on no more than 3 punches a round thrown all fight.

I don't think cory would have a chance at winning but it would be very very interesting to see this match up.....floyd would adapt to whatever cory planned on doing he's just too smart for spinks..and the rest of his advantages the speed, right hand leads etc...would fall into place. The biggest problem i think spinks would have is that he just doesn't punch hard enough and would let floyd be way way to comfortable in there.....
