I have just watched the news from ABS-CBN (TV Channel in the Philippines). Penalosa wants a rematch with De Leon. The guy wants to prove something against De Leon. Will De Leon take the challenge?
If it happens, who do you think will win?

De Leon was undeservingly awarded a victory against him. DPDL threw 1,399 punches but most of 'em were airshots. It was Gerry that landed more crisper power punches.
I haven't seen their fight. Could you post a link here to that fight? Maybe a video from youtube so that people will be able to discuss things in proper context. Thanks man.

It wont happen this early, Gerry is a backwards step for De Leon and there would be no point for the fight to happen in the eyes of De Leon. But you never no if Gerry gets some good wins it could possibly happen.

actually gerry said he wants to retire, but if ponce wants to fight him he will fight him.
I'll try to find the vid.
How about Penalosa vs. Caballero?
or Ponce de Leon vs. Caballero (rematch) and winner gets a crack at Vazquez-Marquez III winner.
Great competition at 122 lbs, exciting division.
and ponce had said he wants to fight one more this year.

Ponce is a warrior and I've read somewhere that Freddy heard Ponce mention he was willing to rematch Gerry in the Phillipines! What a fight that would be.
Backwards step? Not so sure. As far as him getting some good wins he just beat Jhonny Gonzalez, Ponce doesn't have a better win than that, period.Originally Posted by Tam Seddon
I've been a bit shocked by Penalosa actually, I didn't think he had enough left to do what he's done in the last two fights against Ponce and Gonzalez. Even if you think Ponce won the Penalosa fight it was a close fight and the scores were clearly fucked. I wouldn't mind a rematch at all and full credit to Ponce if he goes to the Phillipines to do it.
the fight between the two will be very very exciting. It's like World Cup continuation --Philippines vs Mexico.
I will definitely watch the fight.Hope it happens.
