The ref should have given Hatton more time to climb back into the ring. It's unfair that after Mayweather knocked him through the ropes and he landed on his head that he wasn't given time to recover.
The Hatton excuses for losing on this thread are so much funnier/wittier than the Mayweather excuses for losing.
I expected no less.
Hatton's loss should be erased because just as we have weight classes, we should have skill classes. It's not fair that Ricky was in the ring with someone so much more skilled than him. It's the equivalent of a featherweight going up against a light heavyweight.
If Hatton loses, I think his only excuse would be that he overtrained....(no joke implied)
If mayweather loses his only excuse could be that he finally decided to take an actual real step up and it blew up in his face.....(just lookin to start s**t)

I'm not from the UK I'm from the good 'ol US of A where real men take on real challenges.Originally Posted by frozensolid_702
Oscar was a start but he was past his prime. Hatton is the first one in his prime that I feel has a real shot at mayweather. Please don't reply with "what about so and so and so and so" as it's only my opinion. Not like many on this board....other boards...general public...announcers...see it my way anyway, right?
Hows Hatton going to lose 13 pints of blood, hes only got eight same as everybody else

Technically, hatton did not lose this fight. A fight is supposed to be a two-sided affair. Because this was such a one-sided beating, it should not count as a loss on hattons record.
Team mayweather slipped a roofie into hattons water bottle. This is why hatton allowed mayweather to rape him.
Realistic ones:
The ref kept breaking up hattons clinches and warning hatton for holding. He threatened to deduct a point and this got hatton off of his gameplan. Because of this hatton gassed out and took too many punches.
The ref stopped the fight too soon. Sure, hatton was no longer punching back and was getting schooled. But this because he was saving up his energy for the one super body shot that he was going to knock floyd out with.
