Default How would Arthur Abraham fare v the elite at 160??

I'm talking about Pavlik,Taylor and even a rematch with Miranda? I know he wants his next few fights to be on HBO. Personally,I think Pavlik would be a nightmare for him,the Taylor fight would be similar to the Winky fight but Arthur hits harder than Winky and the Miranda fight would be the most exciting,I'd favou Edison IF it was a fight on even grounds (ie judges/ref)

Yeah I kinda think so too.

I suspect Taylor would beat him but who knows with how shit Taylor has been looking lately.

I think somebody else on another thread said something about how Abraham would win the rematch with Miranda because know he knows that Miranda can't fight worth a damn going backwards-which is true-and that Abraham would decide to push Miranda back in a rematch. I think that's a good plan against Miranda but I'm not sure if that's really how Abraham fights. Either way I think he could make adjustments and beat Edison in a rematch. I kinda wonder if Miranda will come back with the same kind of confidence.

Yeah,I mean AA mentioned wanting to fight Taylor next and unifying but this is JT's last fight at the weight and I don't think there would be much interest in that fight. I think Kelly would stop him and Pantera..you're right I guess,we'd have to wait and see how he is when he comes back and I actually heard he was moving up so again, that fight may not be made.

Dam,it looks like just when 160 was really heating up,all the action will be at 168 where JT Miranda and possibly Pavlik may move! I have heard Winky mention he'll come back to 160,how about Winky v Abraham?

I really like Abraham. He has a tendancy to fight a little listlessly at times choosing to fight up on the ropes like Roy Jones does nowadays.

But I think offensively he is very strong when he does come forward. His execution style one punch KO of Gevor on Saturday was outstanding, and he rocked Miranda several times in their fight.

Trouble is he doesn't come forward often enough. If he fought Taylor I'm not sure he would be active enough to win a decision, although he'd certainly hurt Taylor if he landed.

I'd give him a shot against any of the guys at middleweight though.

One final thought, how confident is he in his jaw repair? This weekend he early on he looked like he really didn't want to get hit. And afterwards there was definitely a noticable swelling. I'm not sure if there is some long term damage there, both physical and pyschological..............

Yeah I wonder about him fighting Miranda again, and though him thinking he can do what Pavlik did to Edison sounds good in theory, I still think AA will be hesitant to actually run into the lion's den again after what Miranda did the last time to his jaw. I actually think Miranda would beat him badly in a rematch, as Miranda does have heart and he's got to be wanting to beat someone after what Kelly did to him. I think Winky would embarass AA and Taylor, who knows what would happen though I would bet slightly with Taylor.

CC Baggins, very good post. Yeah, you can see AA is very good offensively but he can be a bit too lax, lets the opponent take control for too long and I noticed the slight swelling too.

See,I agree with you.I think he could be too wary and respectful of Edison and not venture foward and get outworked and possibly busted up again. It's easy for us to sit here and say Edison can't fight backing up for shit but it took a guy with a good chin, powerful shots of his own(alot of them) and alot of balls to back Miranda up.

As for Winky embaressing AA,I disagree.Totally. The JT fight was made out to be a robbery but it was close(I have scored it by 1 for Winky or a draw, never for JT) and I see AA as the naturally bigger and stronger man than Winky with a similar defence. Winky's offence is so limited that I think the fight would be really really hard to score.

I don't know how Abraham would do, but I wanna see him fight. I'm yet to see him fight, cus none of his fights have been on American T.V. My internet connection is too damn slow to d/l any of his fights or even watch them on youtube. From what I've heard this guy is a good boxer with decent power and a ton of heart and determination.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
