The night Barrera fought nin the US for the first time-days after his 18th b-day, he was 21-0, 14kos- I was at ringside and I don't think I've missed a half dozen fights since. Barrera lost to Pac because he is well past his best and has been for some time. (much like Juan Manuel Marquez- I saw his 6th pro fight). Maybe he can pull it together one last time and beat Pac but I doubt it. Make no mistake, Barrera was the far superior fighter. The MAB of 1997 would've eaten Manny. But not anymore.

I don't think so. Prime Barrera vs Prime Manny, i'd go for Manny.

1997 mab vs what year pac?

pac whoop mab few years ago unexpectedly because nobody thought mab was past it till pac ate him alive...not to mention that wasn't even prime pacman that pounded him.

For everyone that want to make the excuses of prime vs prime, don't forget eric jmm and mab reach there prime at the 126 division. Pacman might has just reach his at 130. Everybody said pac wasn't going to carry his speed and power at 126, everybody said pac can't knock out guys at 130 because he'll give up speed and power. Pac may not have that one punch k.o like he did at the 126 division and below, but at 130 I think his even more dangerous reaching his prime and not slowing down.

This is the reason why I can claim that Manny going 135 is also feasible for him. Morales who was considered retirable after his defeat from Pacman's hands was still able to floor Diaz. Pacman was never floored by Morales.

lol! I guess any fighter Manny beats will automatically become a "past his prime" fighter (MAB-Pac 2003). Manny beat up an undefeated larger prospect like Solis on his last fight,... I guess that made Solis now a down the hill fighter too huh?

I reckon Pac will do Barrera again. Pacs got a little better, Barrera a little softer.

Im not sure about Pac up at 135. Its not like he's draining shat loads to get to 130. He's strong there.

The odds are no surprise to me. Pac was always going to be big favourite as the books opened up for this one.

If the best 3 are Pac, Marquez and Barrera then considering Barrera's last outing, Barrera has a very solid chance of pulling an upset. He beat Marquez (despite the cards). If Barrera lost convincingly to Marquez then I would say he hasnt a chance. But he was as sharp as he has been for a long time in those opening rounds and brawled when he needed to.

He has the perfect mix of smarts and knowing when to throw. Barrera is one of the smartest technicians out there now. A final great Barrera fight is not beyong expectation.

that flu concerns me. i think it was from one of the spectators who watched Pacquaio's training. hope he recovers immediately. Pacquaio has only 1 month more to prepare.

I don't care if Pacquiao is solid pick or how many people doubt Barrera i have been Barrera fan for years and that will never change so im going with my boy Barrera to pull off an upset.
