Default Floyd Mayweather Jr. talks to the fans.

Usually you can't copy anything from this website, but it worked for this chat so I'll assume it's OK. Interview on boxingtalk.com

    http://www.boxingtalk.com/pag/article13242.html

Q: Welcome back Floyd, both the to the chats and as a fighter. I suspected it was merely a vacation. lol I see you winning a wide UD over Hatton, but will you produce your first KO win since Mitchell back in November of 2005? Going to Cotto/Mosley in NYC? Fans will want to see you fight the winner after you deal with Ricky. God Bless, and thanks for being the one fighter these days who will come on to chat with us!

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR: Ricky Hatton is definitely getting knocked out. This will be the highlight reel of my career. I will be able to showcase all of my talents and everything that I've worked on to get to this level

Q: What motivates you in life floyd? money?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR: Waking up to see another day.

Q: hi floyd i think you could of easily been the high profile super star that you are now many years ago you have always had the talent, but i dont know why it took you so long to arrive big time on the scene after becoming a world champion it took you 7 years to become a ppv attraction you could of been in the position that you are now when u was in your early 20's why wasn't u matched in the MEGA fights earlier in you career? like other great fighters anyways good luck against ricky hatton.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR: You have to ask my former promoter that question. But I think everything in life takes time. I've been really patient and now I'm getting the rewards to my hard work and prayers. And having a great team around makes it that much easier.

Q: Floyd would you ever consider fighting your boy Zab again if he can get a few wins under his belt? Also you know everyone wants to see you against tthe winner of Cotto/Mosley m,ake that fight.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR: Fight Zab again for what? I been there and done that and we all know what the outcome was. That fight will definitely be one of the fights I consider, but it all depends on how it goes down. But I'm not thinking about Mosley and Cotto right now, my sole focus is only whooping Ricky Hatton's ass.

Q: hey floyd,i've just started sparring a guy who's 6'7 and i'm 6'1..he also weighs 40 lbs more then me..it kinda reminds me of the height difference between you and corrales..i was wondering what are some good ways to get on the inside to land my jab??i'm asking you this because noone knows about the sweet science more then you..also,how do you get your stamina so good??good luck in the hatton fight..you've got too much skills for him

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR -> Main Chat: Thanks for the support, you have to be patient, take your time and stay behind a good jab

Q: FLOYD..who do you plan on using as sparring partners in your up and coming fight with ricky hatton?and try and cope with his smothering style?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR: I'll leave the sparring partners up to L, I'll just be ready when it's time to go. I leave that to L and Roger though.

Q: What do you make of the thousands of hatton fans coming across to see the fight? Do you think you will have seen an atmosphire like it?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR: I think it's great for the sport of boxing. He got a tremendous following in England and that will add to the excitement of the fight because he definitely don't want to let his fans down. But by the end of the night I will turn his fans into my fans.

Q: Ay Floyd, would you ever fight Bernard Hopkins at 160 pounds?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR -> Main Chat: I'm not thinking about Bernard Hopkins. But Bernard Hopkins couldn't beat me if I was at 160

Q: If you lose Floyd, And thats a bif "IF", Where do you go from there?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR: Ain't no such thing as me losing. It's when I beat Ricky HAtton, I think that's how you meant to start the sentence.

Q: Floyd do you see hatton wrestling as a problem on the scorecard id it comes to that?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR -> Main Chat: I'm not worried about anything that he's attempting to do, I will control everything that happens on December 8. He talked the talk and he signed the contract, so now he's got to walk the walk.
He's not going to want to embarrass himself in front of the world and I'm going to be at my best, so that's going to make for a tremendous fight.

Q: Floyd (la creme de la creme/Money Mayweather), people seem to be ignoring the fact that Hatton is coming up in weight to fight you and not the other way around this time. Last time he fought at welterweight, a journeyman in Collazo had him flatfooted the whole fight and ready to go at the end. Considering your recent history in fighting larger opponents than Hatton (Baldomir, Oscar) how much of a psychological edge are you going to bring into the ring with you when you tax Ricky Hatton's ass on December 8 and how easy is it going to seem? Is there anything you want to tell Ricky on Boxingtalk?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR -> Main Chat: I've had that mental edge on all of my opponents. Oscar, Baldomir, Zab, I'm the boss when I'm in there and I dictate what happens when I'm there. All these guys talk about what they're going to do but at the end of the day it's always the same result and you gotta respect it. Ricky knows what he's got coming I don't got to say nothing.

Q: yo floyd r u going to check out the mosely and cotto fight and if u are who are u going to be rooting for cause i know the winner of that fight is fighting u

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR: I'm not thinking about none of them guys, they all in my rear view, I don't look back. They need to fight for the right to try and get a piece of me. I'm on top and I'm looking down on them. The Mosley-Cotto fight will be exciting and both of them are going to stand there and get hit all night long. I think Shane will knock him out because he's the better overall fighter and has way more experience than Cotto.

Q: Floyd, please tell us why, with all the current champions and exciting fights to be made at 147lbs. You selected a smaller 140lb. fighter?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR -> Main Chat: He's 43-0, the Ring Champion he ain't never been beaten, he's got a big following and I'm going to show him how to lose.
They will all get their chance because I ain't going nowhere.

Q: Floyd, I have mad respect for your skills but stop saying you'll only fight the best when you clearly do not. You take the easiest fights style-wise for the most money. Hatton is tailor made for you, and you are already trying to discrdit the Mosley/Cotto winner so you won't have to fight them. Good business but not the stuff of a fight legend!!

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR -> Main Chat: Let me teach you about the game young man, Mosley and Cotto are good fighters, but what has Cotto done other than beat fighters I already beat? What's impressive about that? And Shane Mosley is a very good fighter, but Shane suddenly wants to fight me but the whole world knows that he had a number of opportunities to fight me. I don't have to discredit nobody my record speaks for itself. I wouldn't be in this position without beating the top guys. Last I looked Mosley had four losses. And all I do is soften them up for Cotto. If Mosley beats Cotto, Cotto fights Hatton next. Just because you get rocked in a fight and get up, all that shows is that you like taking punishment. Cotto, to me ain't nothing but a punching bag. Cotto don't even believe he should fight me himself. He ain't never mentione my name once, that's just his promoter doing all the talking for him.

Q: floyd i want to know will you take the first few rounds easy on him or will you come out trying to punish hatton?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR: I'm getting in his ass from the first bell. He has all the pressure on him because he's going to have to perform in front of all of his fans. He got his whole country behind him and all of the pressure is on him. At the end of the day when I whoop his ass, all of the wonderful fans in England will be on Mayweather's team.

CC good read man but Floyd really is a prick, how will hatton's fans become his and there's no way he's goin to whoop hatton's ass. Bernard would destroy him at 160 aswell!!

PBF really does make me laugh

That's interesting coming from someone in the know ( probably means nothing),or is he just being sarcastic cos Cotto fights his leftovers...

Even if Cotto and Hatton lose they'd still make for a great fight.. Hope that is a genuine possibility.

Floyds is an idiot if he thinks I don't know about the fact that he himself went around beating fighters with losses and fighters who had already been beaten by Kostya Tszyu and Oscar De La Hoya. How many undefeated fighters has Floyd beat? He has not faced an undefeated fighter since Corrales. All of Floyd's best work has been done in the lighter weight divisions mainly the 130. Sure Cotto faught some of Floyd's left overs but Cotto destroyed those whom took floyd to the distance. I even see Paulie Malignaggi going 12 with Floyd and Paulie coming out of the fight unscaved. (Remember Cottos hand was broken against Paulie and Pualies face still looked like he was ran over by a drunk driver) lol
People are putting all of their marbles on Hatton and I personaly feel that Hatton will not be the one to beat Floyd. I will put my money on Cotto if and when the time comes. Cotto might not ever say he wants to fight PBF, but I know for a fact that he has been training for that day. Cotto will be better prepared for Floyd when the time is right and the time is near. Hoping Cotto beats Mosley so that we can see what unfolds from there.

I guarantee you Floyd has no idea who you are and didn't have you in mind at all when giving this response. Hope this helps.

The only question that matters is "can you beat floyd" till someone can the stuff people find bad to say about floyd is just silly. Being a prick doesn't affect the judging, so i don't see why it's such a big topic with people, if he gets the job done inside the ring who cares what he does outside of it. I personally prefer someone with an attitude more like hattons but being a nice guy won't help him in the least come december....

CC for that; well said. I can't stand Floyd's mouth, but I'm sure he could care less. He's a marvel to watch in the ring, and when you're that good and at the top, success breeds envy. People say he's ducking this or that guy, lol. Paul Williams, Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, Hatton, etc. He's just waiting to see who was worth his time. Margarito got exposed, Shane didn't want to fight, Williams just got a name really, Cotto needs to beat Shane then I imagine Floyd will answer the call, and Hatton did what he had to do to get his shot, so Floyd's giving it to him. He'll beat every guy out there at 147, period. I hope Cintron fights Floyd so we can see him cry again like he did with Margarito.

Cotto might of stopped all of Mayweathers left overs, but he was rocked in every single fight. I like Cotto, but he's not in Mayweather's league.

Floyd is pretty delusional but he's much easier to listen too these days than he used to be although, him saying that Hatton's fans will be on his side after the fight is insane, for 2 reasons.

I love it, Floyd is at his arrogant best and its a beautiful thing.

He ALMOST reached the James Toney level a couple of times during the interview.

Who was moderating these questions that were being put to Mayweather? It seems that almost every question begins with "Floyd, you're amazing and I love you and you'll kill hatton and you're p4pno1, but..."

I agree with his views on Cotto though....and I'm starting to prefer Mayweather over Toney in terms of the badmouthing mamajamas.

Cotto was rocked by Corley/ Floyd was rocked by Corley early 3rd and througout the 4th round.
Cotto finishes Corley off/ Floyd gets a UD
Cotto was rocked by Zab/ Floyd was knocked down by Zab regardless if he was hurt or not.
Cotto finishes off Zab/Floyd UD's Zab.
Cotto destroys Sosa in 4 when was he hurt in that fight?/ Floyd UD Sosa

I'm not saying Cotto can beat Floyd easily or anything, but he'll put up a hell of a fight which in my book puts him in Floyd's league. If Floyd were to fight Cotto like he did Corley I don't think he'd last too long. If he fought like he did against DLH or Baldomir then he could most likely pull it out on points. Gatti is not in Floyd's league. Cotto is hands down, but that's just my opinion. We'll know more after the Mosley fight.

    I know everything about nothing!
