Default PBF IS GOOD, BUT HE IS FULL OF S***!!!

I've been reading the interviews PBF has been doing. He is honestly Full of it!!! Let me explain to you why. He continues to pick his fights and like MASTER said on a post "PICKING YOUR FIGHT IS NOT A MARK OF GREATNESS". I posted this info as a reply to someone's topic but decided to create a new topic with the same stuff so that everyone could read it.

I'm going to say a few things about Floyd that I truly believe you guys haven't realized. He knows who he's looking for and who he isn't. He says so much about how Cotto never mentions his name, well I've never heard Cotto's name come out of Floyds until this interview. He was always talking about big bucks with DLH and bigs bucks over here. Floyd Mayweather knows what Cotto brings to the ring. Mayweather could've fought him when they were at 140 but what did he do.....

he won a dumb title eliminator against
    1)CORLEY
    2) HENRY BRUSELES to then fight
    3) GATTI for the title.

Now, instead of staying in that weight and trying to unify as he proclaims he the best P4P (Which I don't argue to this point), then why did he avoid a COTTO(power) or even a TZSYU (power) who were currently champion in that weight? He then doesn't give a title deffense at 140 but decides to moves up to welterwight to fight
    1) MITCHELL.then beats JUDAH for his belt & then wants to unify the welterweight division by beating
    2) BALDOMIR instead of MARGARITO (the best ranked welterweight at that time).

He then hears that Cotto is at welterweight so he makes a MEGA fight with OSCAR and then says.....I retire. knowing that there is still unfinished business at welterweights. Many of you guys just follow along to everything he says and don't see the little things that he is doing. I'm not saying all of you, but some of you. He wants MOSLEY to beat COTTO because he has a better chance at beating MOSLEY with a simple jab than to have an all out brawl with COTTO. He is not going to take that chance. If COTTO beats MOSLEY, boxing fans are going to bring COTTO's name up and he doesn't want that. He knows that COTTO is going to bring him another CASTILLO type fight but with power.

There is no such thing as left overs because if that's the case then he fought all of TSZYU'S and OSCAR's left overs. MAYWEATHER is full of S*** and to those who say COTTO doesn't even belong in his league, obviously don't know much about boxing. BRUSELES & GATTI aren't in MAYWEATHER'S league but you guys still give him credit for those victories.

I',m not saying that MAYWEATHER isn't good.I honestly think he could be great but I think he fears some fighters and talks smack about them to make himself feel better. If he desn't beat all these unbeaten fighters and cleans out these weight divisions, I'm not going to consider him among my top 10 P4P of all-times. Not deserved.

Actually, there is one intrinsic flaw in your argument...

Arum picks Cottos opponents (that's fact - Cotto will tell you himslef in pretty much any interview where he asked who he's fighting next) and there is no way he would risk Cotto with Mayweather...certainly not at any time over the past few years.

Not great fighters as he claims he is, comparing himself to Sugar Ray Robinson and Ali please. He said he could beat Hopkins at 160. No way! He would not fight Winky at 154lb. He is delusional and does talk nonsense. Just because you say it often enough does not mean people will believe you, it is not that simple. He has set the bar not anyone else and he is not delivering.

AGREE. Arum does pick his opponents, but Cotto doesn't go around saying he is the best of all times and talks smack about other fighters. He came up to 147 to fight the best ranked fighter who was MARGARITO, now that he probably won't then he'll fight whomever they put in front of him. I'm not saying that COTTO is the greatest of all times, never, he'll lose someday by maybe ko. I'm just saying that PBF doesn't have a promoter because he chooses not to. Promoters want to please the fans and make the mega fights happen while Mayweather doesn't care about what the fans want. He is going to fight what bennefits him not the fans.

Promoters don't neccesarily wanna please fans, they wanna sell tickets.

I do agree that PBFs smack talk is annoying but you gotta admit that the fact were discussing him shows that there's definitely a method to his madness

I don't care much for Floyd, but he his handling the business side well. Hatton was ripe for the picking from a money perspective. Floyd probably watched the Castillo fight in Vegas with all those Brits making the trip, all that atmosphere, and heard the cash register ringing. After that, assuming he wins, I think you'll most likely see him fight the Cotto-Moseley winner next spring. Whoever wins that bout will be much more valuable to Floyd coming off a huge win than they are right now.

As far as Floyd ducking Margarito for Baldomir...nah. That is revisionist history. At the time, people wanted him to face one of the two and both had a pretty much equal air of danger. Hard as it is to believe now, a lot of people were giving Baldomir a good chance to win that fight because of his size and pressure. It made more sense to fight him because he was the lineal welterweight champ and was coming off high profile wins over Judah and Gatti, plus he had that whole Cinderella Man thing going on which people always eat up. Margarito had no one on his resume with that sort of name recognition, so he did not have as much to offer Floyd. I think if Margarito had beaten Williams, then beaten Cotto, you would have seen that fight materialize.

    Just my two cents.

I reckon there's definitely a tournament in this. Mosley, DLH, Cotto, Hatton and Mayweather could pretty much operate a closed shop for at least the next 18 months....and just think of the permutations, no matter which way you slice it you've got a mega fight!!

That leaves the likes of Cintron, Margarito etc etc firmly in the 'who needs 'em' club.

He also discredited Hopkins by saying 'anyone can dominate a division for 10 years'.
That made me a hater for a long time.

Eli, i kinda see what your saying about Floyd being very carefull with whom he fights. I agree but only from 140 upwards.

He pretty much whiped out the competion @ 130 & 135 we tend to knida forget that.

oh, completely agree with you. I never mentioned a fight before 140. He earned his respect clearly in those weight classes. Mayweather has been doing alot of barking in the welterweights but has been picking which dog to fight instead of fighting of them all to prove his point as the greatest.

Yeah but does he ever say anything nice about anyone? People take his comical rubbish far to seriously.

No disrespect to Eli_jr24 but this thread is just a rant from a Cotto fan that got upset at Floyd slagging his man.

He's facing Hatton next not some gimme mug. For sure Floyd is the favourite but he would be if he faced Cotto or Mosley too.
