Default Is Hatton better than Castillo was at Lightweight

Sorry for yet another threat on Hotton.

I just want to hear what is the general opinion on whether Hatton is better than prime Castillo. If he is, how much better is he?

In my opinion Castillo from 1999 to 2005 would have beat Hatton most likely by stopping him in the late rds,a prime Castillo "I think" was very underrated he was a great body puncher, also had a great left hook and would outwork you late in the fight. Castillo in his prime is better than Hatton in his.

there is no way in the world prime for prime castillo would outwork Hatton, catillo always came forward putting pressure, but i dont think there have been many fighters ever that could outwork ricky on his day (Kosta) effectiveness though is hard to call overall, I would say that Hatton just edges it, still think hes in for a rough night come december, but he will make it difficult for lil floyd one way or the other.

I don't see a need to apologize with the big fight coming up there are bound to be a ton of hatton topics, most have been good so far..anyhow i hate the prime vs prime question, they fought we saw who won....even in his prime castillio could have got caught with that body shot and the outcome would have been the same....outside of something dramatic happening once a fighter gets in the ring throw the excuses out the door...

I think Hatton is a better fighter than Castillo at any time of their careers.
A lot of people are still underestimating Hatton, he beat Tszyu and yes i know he was past his best
but Tszyu aged 35 was still the best going around at the time. It was a big win for Hatton and
now he gets his chance at the man of the moment in PBF.
I would love to see Hatton V Cotto someday.

Castillo was better hands down, you can't compare the level of competition Castillo has faced to the 90 garbage Hatton has faced, sorry, Castillo has names like Corrales, Mayweather, Casamayor, Lazcano, and more on his record, all Hatton has is Tzyu and Castillo himself, sorry history wise and greatness wise i'd say Castillo is way ahead of Hatton

No matter what is said, Hatton will have KO 4 on his record against Castillo forever.
He is 6 years younger than Castillo and his resume will match that of Castillo's by the time he retires.

yea he has a KO4 over a shot aged and worn Castillo, Mayweather will always have 2 UDS against a prime Castillo which at least one of was more impressive than Hattons victory

I have only seen 3 Haton fights, and many Castillo fights, going back over a dozen years. The Castillo that beat Stevie Johnston for the lightweight title was a Castillo past his best and that Castillo would have beaten the Hatton that I have seen.

Since this is comparing both fighters at their primes, Castillo was easily the better fighter. I think he was a very underrated fighter his whole career.

So a prime Castillo would have shrugged off that body punch and the broken ribs would not have bothered him?

Your going on as if he was some 50 year old in a wheelchair?? WTF? Hatton is the bigger stronger guy and would of been to strong on the inside any day of the week, Castillo was good but he was a lightweight Hattons a bull like Light Welterweight who would just be to strong for any version of Castillo.

Castillo ribs were never broken. It was just something made up by a Hatton groupie

I read that in a few articles after Ricky said it on TV might be false. Anyway here is a quote from Castillo himself about the body shot.
"He got me very good with that punch," said Castillo afterwards. "I have never been caught that way. It was the perfect shot. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't get up."

    Thats one about the ribs

Castillo gave a short interview on Telefutro (Spanish TV) a couple of weeks after the Hatton fight saying he was okay and was undecided about his future. He said he was sore but was other wise fine. If Castillo's ribs were really broken it would of been heard about every where
