Default Heavy bag Desicion and Filler

Alright, I'm looking to buy a new heavy bag between 70-80lbs. I already have a 100lb Everlast Worldwide Nevatear bag that I purchased used for $20.00. Not bad, but it's got hard spots. I ductaped them to know where thy are. I also have a 40lb nevatear double end MMA heavy bag that is just amazingly awsome. No hardposts at all in 1 year and I bought it used for $15. It's light and it's hung high in my garage so when I hit it it moves around alot which really lets me use my foot work alot and I can slip the bag aswell.

This new bag I need is for that same purpose, but 70-80lbs so there isn't as much sway as my 40lb bag so that I have to work harder to get it to move. Plus the 70-80lb bags are 14" wide compared to the 12" 40lb bag and longer.

I was thinking about a 70lb everlast nevatear bag but I opened one up at walmart and it had hard spots just like my 100lb bag. I definatly want a bag without hardspots. So i'm thinking about Titles unfilled Synthetic leather heavy bag. ($60.00 + $10.00 shipping) http://store.titleboxing.com/hbv.html
What and how should I fill this bag? I've hear putting sand in first at the bottom, then rippes cloth and then sane up top. Or putting a tube in the center filled with sand and the cloth around it and even bed foam on the outter part and cloth in side it. Any one here stuff bags? What do you recomend and do you think I should just go with the everlast bag. I am on a budget and can't spend more than $70. What bags do you recomend and is the ringside unfilled powerhide heavy bag any better than the Title bag? http://www.ringside.com/DETAIL.ASPX?ID=24743

Before I just got a 100lbs nylon heavybag with rags as filler. I took a quarter of the stuffing to soften it up and even when it was completely filled I had no problems with hard spots.

What kind of filler do you have in your bag?

the everlast bags I have, the 40lb and 100lb bags have cut up rags and sand. I know it has reags because when I unzip the top a bit, it's stuffed with cut rags and I know it has sand because I can feel the sand when I press on the hard spots.

Do you know if I can buy that Everlast H2O water flex water bag with the inner foam and stuff it rags and sand? Hmmmm. The 80lb sells for only $50 at the local sporting goods store because one of them leaked in the store and so they went on a big sale.

Everlast sells empty heavybags. I believe they're made out of Vinyl/fake-leather or what they call Nevartear. The filler shouldn't be hard to come by. I'd just stay away from sand if I were you. Get a softer filler, and something to hang your bag up so that the bottom is at your waist level

I've got a 120 lbs. Century bag, it's a waterbag, but so far no hard spots. It leaks so I have to fill it up every now and then, that's about it. I'm satisfied with it for the time being.

Do you think I can put rags and and in that everlast h@o Water Flex water bag? It has the foam lining to it and is just like an unfilled heavy bag.

I wouldn't try it, have you ever left your clothes to soak in a washing machine too long? The stuff stinks. Just go on ringside.com, or your fitness store and look for an unfilled heavy bag. Ringside sells them for $40, and it's more much more durable then a homemade heavy bag. The stuffing is easy to come by. If you can't get any rags or shredded cloths like what they throw out at a place that makes clothes, you can just go to thrifty store, or a salvation's army outlet and fill a cart with the cheapest clothes that they have. Then you can remove all the buttons/zippers and cut them up and fill your heavy bag with the rags.

If you want to add some weight to your bag without making a lot of rockhard spots, you can use a durable plastic bag with sand in it and place it at the bottom of your heavy bag.

Then if you want to make the most of your bag you outta a long chain/rope and tie it to something so that the bottom of the bag is at about waist level. This would be a little easier on your joints, and a swinging heavybag makes you move a lot more.

You don't understand. I'm talking about putting clothes in the everlast h2O heavy bag, not water. The bag comes unfilled just like a regular unfilled heavy bag. It has a foam lining also. So I was wondering if I could just fill that bag up with cloth INSTEAD of water. Idon't want a canvas bag which is what the $40 one at tingside is + something like $15 for shipping. If I were to get an unfilled bag it would be the title synthetic leather like I said before. I already talked to them and they gave me some tips on filling but i've heard them already.

What I was wondering tho was buying the unfilled h2o bags and putting sand and cloth in them and would it be any different. It's $45 dollors for the bag at a local store $50 with tax. And I can always return the bag if it doesn't work out and if it does work out, I'll have a traditional heavy bag with cloth and sand and can change it to a water bag if I wanted to.
