Default Team Cannon: Anyone remember these fools???

Now introducing THE next big thing in boxing, the (formerly) "undefeated" TEAM CANNON

Rydell 'Rock'N'Rye' Booker: 22(12 KO's)-1-0 and now serving 12 years for drug charges after his loss vs James Toney.

Leo 'PACO' Nolan: 26(10 KO's)-1-0 now 35 years old and still waiting for a shot vs someone decent

Rubin 'Mr. Hollywood' Williams: 29 (16 KO's)-2-1 and was the first member of Team Cannon to lose and was IMMEDIATLY canned because he messed up their marketing scheme of all being undefeated.....the good news is he has done the best out of all three of these guys drawing in a fight vs Antwan Echols and losing in 7 to Jeff Lacy....hey at least he has fought some NAMES

I just thought of these guys and wanted everyone to remember them and have a good laugh

NO, they were average AT BEST... but they were marketed like they were going to be the BIG THREE of pro boxing! Like if Tyson, Evander Holyfield at cruiserweight, Roy Jones Jr. at 168 all got on the same promotional team and fought on the same card all the time.

It was really funny when Williams lost, but it was also sad....their promoter had billed them as Team Cannon an undefeated Trio of fighters and Williams' loss screwed that angle up and he was dropped by the promoter right after his loss but he was eventually picked back up after everyone made fun of that happening and really it was a disgusting thing to do for the promoter.

Team Cannon was a joke really and it was funny while it lasted but obviously with one guy in jail, one getting ready for the Contender, and one approaching his late 30's they really didn't accomplish what they were billed to but I suppose that a lot of fighters in pro boxing but I think it's funnier this way

That's the big problem with too much hyping.

    Agreed Bruce
See Bernard Dunne V Kiko Martinez for the worst aspect of hyping.
Very hyped up fighter gets KTFO in his 25th fight,on national television and in front of 5000-8000 fans. This will make his career incredibly hard to rebuild, whereas if he wasn't that hyped it would be easier.
And i will take responsibility, I hyped him myself.

    LOL I remember those clowns....

I think Rydell's best win was over an 84 year old Prince Charles Williams ( 84 in boxing years at least)

Then he gets schooled by Toney.....I can't remember any of the big names on Nolans list if there was even any

Williams had ther best resume out there and he fared poorly against them too....

They reminded me of a WWE gimmick

I tried googling "team cannon boxing"

The first match was an article about Shannon Briggs.

The second was this thread lol..............

.....and they still suck to this day...and it's hard to really let them know how bad they suck because I don't live near any of them or else I would kick them squAR in the nuts and then berate them until they cried for their mama's!

YOU SUCK TEAM CANNON!!!!!! AND I WILL NEVER LET YOU FORGET IT!!!!!

I just remember Booker trying to keep his pants from falling down against Arthur Williams. That was like half his focus throughout the whole fight.

It sounds like a bad story. I mean I am sure it was funny, but the fighters just fell into this circumstance.... If you were a mediocre fighter, this would have been a chance you couldn't turn down.

I wish we had sponsored fighters---to make good fights more affordable, and to get the best guys together on the money more often.

I almost feel like rubin owes me money for wasting my time watching him fight, or cover up whatever he call it. I almost lost the T.V. to the kids last night he was so horrible.
