    Default Horace Notice

What ever happened to him ...... why did he stop fighting as I recall him being unbeaten for a while in the '80's?

Detached retina, shame was a good fighter x. He was one of those fighters I call ifs. If he was around now he would be Cruiser champ a very good fighter and a very nice man. Hope hes doing well, he deserved better luck.

Yeah - I remember him being around (but not touted too much as heavyweight boxing everywhere was in a pretty dire state at the time). I was wondering what happened to him - thanks for the info.

Shame, as they can now pretty well fix detached retina problems for fighters .... a bit like cruciate ligament injuries are now just treatable rather than being career ending as they were only a few years ago in footy.

I remember Big Bad James Oyebola and was shocked that he got shot recently. I often wonder what happened to people after they were famous.

I met him while working on a building site in hackney a couple years back, he was working as a plasterer, very quiet but we had a laugh, his still as big as he ever was, maybe a bit bigger, he was working with another plasterer that was a big lump too and i remember him letting the other fella punch him square in the body as hard as he could and horace didnt move, its a shame cos he had to retire when he did because im sure he would of had a shot at the euro title and if done well maybe world title, but still not many fighters retire unbeaten so hope his still doin well!

I was young at the time and not really into boxing but always remember my dad watching one of his fights on Sportsnight I think it was.

All you could hear during the fight was someone loudly shouting 'Be smart, be smart Horace' (repeat 50 times). I am pretty sure to this day it was Frank Bruno shouting, certainly sounded like him - was he a mate of Franks anyone know ?? Or can anyone confirm this ?

Never really heard the name Horace Notice mentioned since then - bit of nostalgia here for me

Yep Gary Mason aswell. Bet there were some fireworks in tsparring.

Quality fighter was Horace, I saw maybe 4 of his fights. Never been able to get any downloads of his fights though. Would be nice to watch them after all these years.

Horace was better than Mason, probably would have been better than Bruno. He was a very good fighter. Bruno got his eye injury repaired, so did Sugar Ray, so why didn't he?

Dont think they sparred to much between each other, thats what I was told. Funny was at a Dinner 6 months ago, Horace was on my Table, had a lovely talk with him. He really looks great, still a Gentleman.
