Thread: who should be the ref for hatton mayweather?

i think i would actualy like smoger to referee, with cortez as a 2nd choice... smoger allows fights to continuer longer than most, unlike cortez who i think stops them a little bit early. what do you think guys?

I said Cortez, but honestly, as long as it's not Jay Nedy I don't care. Terrible referee. See Barrera-Marquez as just one glaring example.

Good thing they're not fighting in Texas,.. or else ref Laurence "idiot" Cole would be the third man in the ring.

I picked Cortez... But I don't think Nady would be a bad choice either, he's made mistakes but when your a high profile ref with so many championship fights under your belt you can't be expected to get it rght every single time.. Whoever the ref is it has to be someone who won't tolerate a crapload of holding from Hatton. Nady is usually pretty firm in promptly breaking up unneccesary clinching.

Bayless, Cortez, or Nady would all be good choices. Nady made a mistake in the MAB-Juarez fight, but I think he's a good ref overall.

JOe Cortez best Ref out there. He is willing to take points from HAton for too much Holding and also he is willing to take PBF's points for using his elbow too much

Can we bring back Mills Lane for this one? This topic brings up a point, are there any refs that are top notch out there? I have problems with all of these guys except for Smoger, but I've never seen him do a fight in Vegas. He's always in New Jersey.

I Like Smoger For This One,quick enough to stay out of the way with a good eye.Come to think of it,he does that little one step dance wnen he breaks fighters up and really looks goofy.
Maybe they could use randy neuman,he could throw Them over the ropes &out of the ring when he gets mad.One day he's going to have a flashback and start slugging Guys.Baylis would be good as well,

Smoger is a New York ref. He's not going to be an option for this fight in Vegas.

that is a shame smoger wont ref it.. mills lane would be fitting to comed out of retirement for this one lol
