Thread: Winky talking about how he could make 147 to fight Oscar

A bit out there IMO, he was just at 170. I know thats not a good weight for him but it wasn't like he was a small middle and he was a big jr. middle. Now he's gonna make 147 this late in his career. I would think making 154 wouldn't be that easy, 147 just sounds ridiculous.

Thats crazy got more chance of Toney getting back in shape than Wright getting down to Welterweight.

Infact i believe Wright was only ever once at 147 and that was in 1992

That means absolutely NO Krispy Kremes if he wants to get down there. I don't think he can make 147 at this point, though. 154 is probably too much for him. Winky didn't look flabby at 170; he'd have to take off a lot of muscle to get down there.

winky is an idiot!!! i'm tired of guys wanting to fight oscar, I mean I can understand if your a up and comer but not an already establish great fighter like winky. I think this sports needs changes and one of them is acts like these from fighters. Wanting to fight a guy just for the money. Atleast hide the fact that you want to fight oscar just cause he brings in money. Fans are at fault too, for being nutthuggers. Loving oscar is o.k and all but geez we need fights that determines legecy, not paper hungry fighters. I'm sick of these greedy expose fighters that really puts it out there, they want the most money making fight even if its against a guy that hasn't won in years. wtf is winky gonna get out of beating smaller older slower oscar legecy wise

I think though, if he's talking 147 then he should go after Floyd. Oscar could be a start to that though.

Going after the biggest pay-day in boxing. How foolish. Why exactly do you think boxers fight? It's not all for the recognition and glory - its about cash at the end of the day. Winky Wright has nothing to prove legacy-wise and he's been chasing after Oscar for a while now. He's already established a HoF career, why not try to cash in? It's not like he has ten years left in the sport.

Like i said he has only been at 147 once in 1992 147 is crazy talk the only way this fight would be made is at 154 and even that would be a big drop in weight i don't see this fight happening at all i think he is just trying to lure Oscar but i doubt it will happen.
