Default Sean O'Grady-the most padded record in boxing history?

I've seen O'Grady doing commentary for years now, and he's always referred to as "The Champ". I always figured that while he was no legend, he was damn good with his flashy record, but I never could name anyone he fought, and people don't talk about his fights much. So, the other day I looked up his record on Boxingrec.com and I found out why. This SOB fought so many 0-0-0 guys and bums that its not even funny. He held the WBA belt for a minute then was stripped of it for not defending against the number one contender. If you haven't seen his record, you should check it out, even after O'Grady was "Champion" and had over 50 fights, he still fukin fought guys in their pro debut.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Yep. He's a joker. The ONLY name I recognized on his record was Danny "little Red" Lopez, whom I've never even seen fight, just heard of. And Lopez knocked his ass out in like 2 rounds. Freakin O'Grady.

O'Grady is a joke and Lopez was very good fighter i see his 2 fights with Sanchez i respect boxers who get in the ring and take risks but fighting 0-0 fighters when you have had 50+ fights ?? sorry i can't respect O'grady at all and if i was working with him as commentator i would call him a chump instead of the champ because he isn't no champion in my eyes.

The most deceiving record you'll ever see in your life. The only person he beat with a winning record was 5-2-1. If you want a lugh go ahead and look up the mercer ko.

I guess i will have to come to the defense of O'Grady here, I like his commentary. Who cares if his record was padded. So he wasn't the best Lightweight going around, a lot of sports commentators around the world have never even played the game they are commentating on and yet are regarded as being good at what they do.
I reckon most of the good posters on this forum could make good boxing commentators and who of us has had that many fights.

Kind of crazy that he was over 70 wins getting fights against guys with no wins...those commissions should be ashamed...

It's that infamous mid-west circuit here and it still pulls that s!!! off.
bring out a guy who is so-so in skill and feed him all the home cooking he can eat.More proof that bloated glossy records mean nothing unless they are EARNED.

And that's why they call him champ. Like it or not, anyone who wins a belt gets that distinction bestowed upon them. I will admit, I know absolutely nothing of his career but I do like his commentating.

Nope, we all know THEE most padded record in boxing history is held by JCC. He fought nothing but bums throughout his career and a bunch of cab drivers.
