Vitali stated in german tv that there will be no warm up fight anymore...
He will directly fight the winner of Maskaev-Peter...

Of course his disc prolapse will have to be cured first...

They should take away his emeritus status. First of all, a champion (if he were to win), who immediately retires is no good. You need a champion who will be able to defend the belt. And this is the 5th straight fight Klitschko has had to drop out of. In my opinion he's worn out his welcome and should just retire for good.

Damn y'all don't be so hard on Vitali if all goes like everyone predicts(Sam beats Oleg) then you could see him and sam dance, now that would more intresting than seeing him beat the washed up bums now wouldn't it ?

I hope Vitali comes back and fights well 3 or 4 more times. He's be a legit champ, unlike many of the glorified journeyman holding belts now, Maskaev, Sultan etc...

Sorry you feel that way. That was over 4 years ago now, and it wasnt a prime Lewis. Many boxer have trouble in their last fights and that was Lennox's very last fight. Its not even about that. My point is that he is not deserving of an immediate title shot. If he is then so should any boxer that retired champion. He had his chance but it should be gone now.

He gave an unmotivated Lennox Lewis who was ready to retire and did. He did not beat a Prime Lewis. Either way it was a hell of an exausting fight. I also think he would have gave Lewis troubles at any point in his career.....

Fact is you can not disappear for years and expect to just pop in for a title shot....Not right...What about the guys who have been here all along?

When Lewis was on his game no one gave him troubles except Evander. I know Mcall and Rahman ko'd him but the rematches proved they were flukes.
