Default WBO Fails in Favor of Calderon

After their fight Cazares team presented a formal complaint to the WBO and claimed that he was robbed. Cazares team probably tried to take advantage that the only Puertorrican judge was the only one that saw him winning. I think this is something can discard that this was a home town decision. Finally the WBO came with an unanimous conclusion in favor of Calderon, thus Cazares failed in his last try to beat Calderon outside the ring.

I don't know how many of you saw this fight, but this was a master piece for Calderon who showed that his is one of the most talented fighters today. He beat a bigger and stronger (by far) boxer, who was considered his biggest challenge. Cazares weighed about 130 pounds the day of the fight for 108 fight!!!! Calderon went to the floor, but was able to survive and come back to recover his rhythm in the last rounds. This certainly was a close fight, but I saw a clear victory for Calderon and the WBO re-confirmed this. Calderon is now trying to unify his title in his next fight. If he can not reach an agreement for the unification I would not be surprised with a rematch with Cazares.

Apart from the knockdown and a couple of slightly hairy rounds for Calderon, he basically tap danced on Cazares a** all night long.

He made him look stupid. What is it with boxers being such poor losers recently?

Margarito reckoned he was robbed, Vivian Harris claimed Junior Witter took performance enhancing drugs and shoved something in his gloves and Cazares thinks he was on the receiving end of a robbery

From where I was watching Harris got KTFO becuase he's a chinless bastad, Margarito got out worked and out hustled and Cazares just got plain humiliated by a child man who is small even by little girl standards.

Meanwhile guys like Steve Forbes who get truly robbed shrug it off and get on with their craft.

F*** Cazares and his sad whining, if you can't hammer the S*** out of an 100 lb man who stands 5 ft nothing I'd just retire quietly and not make a fuss.

Well there was some questionable knockdowns and although I would not take this as an excuse normally, but he did lose like 16 pounds in a week which must have affected him a little at least. I'd love to see a rematch, the first fight was close. Although, overall, apart from a few shaky moments against a guy that outweighed him by at least 15 plus pounds,Calderon did make him look silly at times.

I agree it was a great performance by Calderon

I do not agree that he humiliated Cazares by any means.

I had it a very very close fight for Calderon because I felt Iron Boy just did not do enough in some of those rounds.

I did feel that when Calderon went down in the 9th it should have been called a KD. (Might have to see it again to be sure though)

Finally, I would not go for an imidiate rematch if I were Calderon. But as a fan I would love to see it again.

To be honest maybe I'm a bit biased but as far as I'm concerned if you are a 5 ft 7 in power puncher weighing 130 lbs and you are fighting a 5 ft 0 100lb little child man with less power than a solar powered calculator down a coal mine and don't knock him out cold then you have been plain embarrassed.

You never liked those little guys did you.

What I mean is that, even though it was a great performance by Calderon, he certainly did not dominate Cazares. Cazares gave him a pretty tough fight and thats why the fight was so good. You always felt Calderon was more in danger than in control.

Getting back on topic. Calderon still pulled it off and Cazares has no case. He was beaten fare and square and he should settle this where it was ment to be settled, in the ring.

Yup I pretty much agree and I did enjoy the fight. I became a Calderon fan that night.
