ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - There can now be little doubt who the crowd will favor on Saturday in the WBC middleweight championship between Jermain Taylor (27-0-1, 17 KOs) and unbeaten challenger Kelly Pavlik (31-0, 28 KOs).

The crowd at the weigh-in in a ballroom at Caesars Palace was overwhelmingly in favor of Pavlik, who came in a half-pound under the 160-pound limit.

Taylor weighed in first to a chorus of boos from the crowd as he weighed in at 159.

Anna Nieczski, 25, wore a Pavlik t-shirt and had Pavlik's initials painted on her cheeks. She said she and her boyfriend drove overnight to make it to support Pavlik.

"Kelly has never forgotten where he's from," Nieczski said. "He's gotten a big name in boxing and he's going to win the middleweight title, but he's still the same guy he was when he started. People in a town like this remember that."

Yahoo! Sports will have complete coverage of the fight on Saturday, which will be televised live on HBO beginning at 10:15 p.m. Eastern/7:15 p.m. Pacific.

I hope Pavlik takes advantage of his long arms.

I agree with Emmanuel Steward. Its going top be a tough time for Taylor..for about a round. Pavlik is strong and agressive so I wouldnt be surprised to win the first round or two before Taylor starts to figue him out. Once that happens Pavlik will have his hands full.

Tough for Taylor for about a round ?? more like 12 rounds if it even goes that long which i don't think it will Pavlik by TKO late.

Taylor is gonna make Pavlik look like very bad.

Taylor is the real deal and has been up against, and beat, some of the best in boxing. Plus, he's going to finally be fighting an orthodox fighter (it really does matter, because southpaws got a big advantage) for the first time since Bernard Hopkins.

    Ask yourself this.....................

Do you think that Pavlik vs. Hopkins at 160 would have been even close to competitive??

    Hell no.

Taylor by late TKO......................... and I'm even laying $50.00 on it even though I'm hella broke

Pavlik is a skinny SOB isn't he? Sucker doesn't have much muscle mass but he sure can punch. Hard fight to pick, I'll be rootin for Pavlik, but I figure it to be a tuff fight for both guys, not a white wash either way. Pavlik's lack of head movement and aggression mixed with Taylor's jab and one -two could favor Taylor, but Taylor doesn't like pressure, so who knows, Pavlik could pressure him hard and TKO him.

I agree almost etirely. I'm not sure how bad Taylor is going to make Pavlik look, but I think he'll win in a fight that is going to be a lot less competitive than most people think.
    Thanks for the pics Danny_G

The tongue out is a animal instinct of male dominance, gorillas do it, it's an intimidation mechanism, it tells you Pavlik is in the right mental state, you know his head is in the right place. They both look in great shape, Taylor coming in at 159 suggests his endurance is gonna be VERY strong, usually he's scraping 160, this time I expect him to be in good shape down the stretch. This is a BIG fight, we're in for a treat folks.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!

Yes it would be close. Pavlik fighting a 40 year old champ. I think so.

I'm picking Taylor to surprise most people with a stirling performance in this one. He looks in great shape. He needs to box, box, box if he is to win this one. Following Manny's advice will help!
