Thread: Hopkins should fight Pavlik at a catch weight.

I would love to see how Pavlik would do against Hopkins. I think Hopkins still has the footwork to keep the distance, however Pavlik does have good accuracy and has a knack for landing punches. Either way, it would be nice for Bernard to in a sense get back the title he should have gotten back in the second fight with Taylor.

Pav is 25 and Hopkins is in his 40's. Pavlic would outwork Hopkins for a decision. Would like to see it though.

Hey I thought Winky would out work Hopkins, and I thought Tarver would as well, and both of them have faster feet and hands than Pavlik. Hopkins didn't looked as old as HBO made him out to be in the fight against Winky, for that matter neither did Winky would fought very well that night as well.

Winky was not as effective at Lightheavyweight he had never fought at Supermiddleweight let alone Lightheavyweight and as for Tarver he fought like a joke in Hopkins fight hardly throwing anything it was like he just gave up and admitted defeat very early in the fight.

Hopkins needs to retire hes fucken boring! A while back I said I had it with Hopkins, Winky & JT fighting their shitty! fights..... This time around JT earned my respect for FIGHTING Pavlik. Winky & Hopkins would never go out of their elements and FIGHT someone 'cause they get sparked out.

If Team Pavlik are smart they would pass up on Hopkins & Winky if the fights were offered neither fighter has anything to offer in the ring both shitty! boring fighters whom I've lost my patience with. Pavlik should move on to better things he has AAbraham, Sturm & Duddy. 3 very interesting fights and all with REAL fighters who would climb through the ropes to fight.

That is just such a silly comment. I mean come on. Hopkins and Winky are afraid to "FIGHT" because they might get sparked out.. Gee, how'd Taylor do against Pavlik this weekend again?? Oh yeah he got KTFO. But Winky and Hopkins are shitty because they don't want to get sparked out so they box. Yeah what morons. Come on, Pavlik vs Winky or Hopkins would be very interesting fights.. Just because Hopkins and Winky didn't match up well doesn't mean neither of them have anything to offer the sport any longer.. How can you find Hopkins totally boring? He's a masterful boxer who knows every trick in the book, sure his pace has slowed a good deal with old age but you have to still appreciate his skills and ring smarts. Who else is Pavlik going to face anyways if not Taylor.

Yeah Hop and Wright are great fighters, though I get bored watching Hop these days{the Wright fight was pitiful IMO because Hop just held all night}, but Hop is a legend and Wright will be or already is. I just don't see the benefit of Kelly fighting them, especially Hopkins, cause if he wins everyone would just say he beat an old man, maybe the same for Wright too. But yeah, there isn't much out there for Pavlik other than Taylor again or some prospects like Allan Greene. I just want the rematch with Taylor 1st and then see what happens.

Well whatever anyone says,and even though I respect them both,Hopkins v Winky was a horrible,ugly fight. Neither fighter looked particularly impressive. As for B Hop Kelly,I don't think Hopkins would take this fight. He's looking for bigger paydays ie v JC?

Winky would get knocked out by Kelly and I say this as someone who respects Winky's accomplishments.

I honestly hope Pavlik doesn't stay at middleweight. Who's he going to fight there, barring a rematch with Taylor which is obviously one to watch. The only other good fight for him at 160 would be against Abraham. That's one Id really like to see, but I doubt it will happen and if so Id make Pavlik a solid favourite anyways. But if he moves up to SMW as he has talked about, there's a ton of exciting fights he could land. The winner of Kess Calzaghe, a number of up and coming guys like Inkin, Froch, Bute, Pascal, etc.. Maybe Lacy if he comes back, or Winky, Hopkins should they show interest in fighting him at SMW..
