Ive nothing againest the guy , but hes getting old and has done nothing ?
Why is he fighting a 36 year old Robin Reid who has lost ...........
    1997 - Malinga
    99 - JOKE Calzaghe
    2000 - Branco
    2003 - Ottke
    2005 - hammerd by Lacy ?
i mean why bother ? is he over rated ? or can he really walk the walk , it seems a real waste of talent to take these kind of fights .
This by the way is a genuine question my fellow northener , im just curious
I think he is massively overrated. Never fought a top 20 guy. Bit of money in a Reid matchup tho. Thats why he is doing it. He'll probably KO shot Reid, then mouth off saying how he beat Robin easier than Joe C and is therefore better....
Put Carl in with Joe C or Kess, even a fit Mundine and he'd get his a** handed too him. He is a Danny Green level fighter at best.
I think stopping that Russian in his last fight showed hes world class!
Why is that? That Russian himself wasn't even world class. And Reid is no longer world class. Carl Fraud is hiding something that he doesn't want expose. Which is why he stays away from live threats.

The last fights hes knocked them out early. As ive said in the other posts, he gets his shot at the WBC title around spring, so we will see Carl Froch in action then. Just have to wait for it. i hope he does get in with the better fighter after Reid, but lets just hope he can put on a good perfomance and stop him early.

No chance of Reid getting stopped let alone early

Robin still believes in himself, he didnt have to take this fight, he took the Brinkley fight on 2 weeks notice and looked ok for the time off and short prep, how he felt in there has obviously given him a shot of confidence which is why hes taken this fight, he went quiet when offered before.

Frochs been out 8 months and has completed very few rounds in his last 2 fights, Reid has done 8 good rounds this year and has been training for this fight for a couple of months already, Froch has had surgery on his knee and maynot still be training hard on it.

frochs timing will be well off and with Robins new array of old man tricks he will rough house froch for the first few rounds and I hope ram his jab down carls throat, Reid has the longer reach, Reid also loves the overhand right and carl loves to catch em with his face.

I like Reid and would have liked to see him take another warm up before Froch, shame cattley pulled out of their eliminator, he obviously realises that Robin has something left in the tank.

At very least Froch will have a hard nights work, I can see Robin winning a decision like the Magee match in Ireland

Froch is too good for Reid hes old and washed up and hes going to get knocked down. He looked slow and old in his last fight and trust me he wouldnt be able to take those right uppercuts from Froch.

He got bummed by Lacy, and i feel froch hits a lot harder than lacy.

    Froch ko first 5 rounds.

Froch doesnt even deserve to be ranked top 10. Look at his opponents.
Tatevosyan 26-7 had been beaten by a guy (pirog) who had 3 pro fights 4 fights before Carl fought him. World ranking 37
    Tony Dodson World ranking 63
    Brian Magee World ranking 21
    Dale Westerman World Ranking 86
AND NOW ROBIN REID WORLD RANKING 35

How can a guy who has never fought a top 20 fighter in his division get a title shot?

I like the guy, hes got a bit of cockiness to him. He is only at 21 fights and recently has increased his risk factor. Magee and Dodson are fairly decent, Reid is a slight step up. Theres alot of guys to fight in his division. There will be plenty to pick from after this fight.

HAHAHAHA Tam i set this question for you as a Froch fan.
AND i feel hes wasting time with nothing fights , well on the one hand you defended his oponants
then you make this statement which is how the rest of us feel .... i quote -
" Reid is old and wasted up hes going to get knocked down , he looked old and slow in his last fight !!!!!!!!"
Doesnt this kinda sum it all up and that from the mouth of a Froch fan ?
    I mean hes wot 29 already ?

Froch is a fraud. It's pretty much that simple

Your dead right. Cant Carl atleast fight a decent guy, who is still fighting reasonably well. Someone like Sam Soliman, Allan Green or Andrade, anybody who could show us whether he is good or not.
I really can see it now, he'll probably beat or even ko reid then he'll claim he is better than Calzaghe cos Joe only just beat Reid.

He'd make a good comeback fight for Lacy.

Thats not a bad option, altho we'll probably see him against a few more 20-40 ranked fighters who have no power so that he can get a title shot before ever being tested. And when he does get a title fight and if it is against a top guy he'll get KTFO.
