....I did once compare him to David Izon and I guess he finally lived up to it

damn I think JM can pull this off, he exposed sam peter.

I can understand why Sam wouldn't bring his 'A-game' vs McCline especially considering the steroid scandal and the fact that Maskaev and the WBC stuff.

But I could also have understood Sam Peter coming in and destroying McCline in 1 just to prove a point.


I think Sam Peter will have to really show better in his title defense to turn some head because he didn't do very well vs Jameel. If I was a Sam Peter fan, I would be worried.



I doubt a Wladimir-Sam Peter rematch looks too good right now

I say that the guy had a bad night.

What's funny is that everyone dumps down on him after getting dropped 3 times to get up & close out the win.

...yes that's admirable but he never should have been down vs McCline to begin with.

People compare it to Wlad-Peter but there really is no comparison. Wlad was still shakey from his loss to Brewster and Sam Peter was young powerful and on the rise and for Wladimir to get up and whip a guy who was supposed to knock him out was a big deal.

Sam Peter is still a good fighter but that was a piss poor showing, he had better thank his lucky stars he didn't fight Oleg Maskaev!!!


But yes the point is that he still won despite having a horrible night

Don't focus on Wlad, Wlad's last fight was PERFECT


Sam Peter is just getting the just rewards of having an off night in boxing....he has a lot to fix and the next time he can show everyone he's changed is the next time he fights.

Let's not focus on anyone who is a fan of Wladimir....I want Sam Peter to look good for a rematch too but if he fights like that he doesn't deserve one!

Well if Peter is so bad and got decked by such a light hitter like McCline then Wlad can't be that great getting decked 3 times by Peter and not even decking Peter once.

Wladimir dominated him in that fight DESPITE being knocked down 3 times.


And honestly I want Sam Peter to do well so there can be a rematch...I'm just pointing out there's not much to be gained by fighting like that vs a journeyman like McCline

Im not trying to diss Wlad but this guy is taking the piss out of Peter but forgets Peter decking his boy 3 times he needs to remember that when he is taking the piss out of Peter

You know what Lyle ?? the only real match i was looking forward to in HW division was Peter vs Wlad 2 but im not so sure now.

Like I said in that other thread, McClines shoulder caused Peter to get knocked down the first time. When his face and McCline's shoulder collided Peter went off balance. After that Peter was shellshocked for the third round.


After Peter pulled it together McCline did nothing impressive but weigh 266+ pounds and tower over his opponent.
