I don't think we should put down either fighter for last Saturday's performance. Barrera tried to fight in the only way he felt he had a chance. Did any of you really expect Barrera to go after PACMAN and bang with one of the most relentless and biggest pounchers in the game P4P  I sure didn't.
As for Paquiao, he took the fight to MAB all night long. He was not about to go crazy in there and jusr rush in and possibly get caught. He knew full well who he was in the ring with. Barrera, even at this stage in his career, is no push over.
The problem is that both fighters wanted to make a smart fight. Unfortunately for us fight fans, smart fights are usually boring fights. But still, this fight was not too bad.
I also wanted to say that at no point was Barrera winning this fight. Paquiao was dominating and won at the very least 9 to 10 rounds out of 12. I give MAB all the respect in the world but he lost BIG. |
