Default Peter vs. McCline - Peters Speaks + Judges Scorecards

    By Matt Richardson

WBC interim heavyweight champion Samuel Peter outpointed challenger Jameel McCline despite being knocked down three times. How did he do it? A look at the official scoring shows judge Billy Costello (115-110) gave every round to Peter with the exception of rounds two and three. Judge Julie Letterman (113-112) was the most friendly to McCline as Peter barely pulled out a one-point nod by sweeping the last four rounds. Judge Steve Weisfeld (115-111) gave McCline only rounds two, three and six.

    Default Peter Speaks!

"If Peter had gotten hit by Oleg like that he never would've got up to see the next round," Maskaev manager Fred Kesch said afterwards.

    He'll still destroy Maskaev.

McCline is a good boxer and had huge height and reach advantages. Maskaev is the same height as Peter, is a mediocre plodder and has known chin deficiencies.

He's getting sparked when they meet no doubt in my mind.
