Default The Molitor result is in.............SPOILERS!

    Molitor overpowers 3K Battery!
By Dave Spencer and Shawn McWilliams at ringside
Steve Molitor (25-0 10KO) of Toronto Ontario made a second successful defense of his IBF super-bantamweight championship with a convincing unanimous 119-109, 119-109, 120-108 decision victory over Fashun 3K Battery (58-9-1 35KO) of Bangkok in front of packed house of 5,200 fans in Orillia Ontario. Molitor controlled the action throughout with the exception of an overhand left that rocked the champ into the ropes in the 7th round that somehow was not ruled a knockdown by hometown referee Rocky Zoinierczyk. Molitor survived the punch that had his opponent backing off when he ended up sitting on the bottom rope. Despite a renewed confidence by 3K Battery, Molitor was quick to turn things back around as he continued his effective body attack. Battery who has only ever been stopped by Manny Pacquiao in 68 professional fights proved to be rugged if nothing else as he was able to absorb Molitor’s sustained attack and continue to come forward.

It was a decent fight. That knockdown should've been called though. Molitor wasn't really hurt or anything though.

Molitor's gloves and butt did not touch the ground. His ass bounced offf the bottom rope. Is that considered a knockdown?

Yes, because if his ass didn't hit the bottom rope he would've been down. If the ropes are the only thing holding a fighter up its considered a KD.

Where do people think Molitor rates in the SUper Bantam division> Who would beat him?

I think he has the skill to beat Israel Vazquez and Rafael Marquez but not sure what his chin is like.

I don't think he's ready to fight a Vazquez or a Marquez. He definately needs a few more fights. That being said, I think the ceiling for Molitor is pretty damn high. He a slick southpaw with more power than his KO ratio suggests. He has an excellent body attack, he's hard to hit at all let alone to hit cleanly, he has fast hands and feet. Molitor will be a handful for whoever he fights, but I don't think he's ready to tangle with the big boys of the division just yet. He'll be ready in another couple of fights if he keeps progressing the way he currently is.
The only time in 3K Battery was able to hit him with a clean left it dropped him, so there might be some questions about Molitors chin, though I doubt it as it was a flash knockdown and he was never really hurt.
