A friend of mine was at the fight and said he was dropped just after the final bell rang and never got up. He won the fight however by SD and got busted up badly.
Will he give up now?

Anyway in regards to Moorer....
I don't understand what happened.
Moorer got dropped AFTER the final bell.
Then that fight should end in a DQ win for Moorer if he was dropped after the final bell.
Also their is a rule that a fighter can not be saved in any round inlcuding the last round so if he was hit BEFORE the bell rang and the ref began the count and the round ended BUT he still didn't get up then his opponent should have won via TKO.
He said the other guy was going for the kill in the final round. Moorer got hit just after the bell sounded and was dropped. It sounded like it was not intentional hit after the bell, just happened as the bell was ringing and it was not allowed.Originally Posted by CutMeMick

I see what your saying about Moorer.
I guess being that it was the last round they just decided to take it to the score cards.
I cant find anything on the net about the fight.
I did hear Moorer DID get off the canvas, but could hardly stand up.
They ruled the shot that knocked him down happened just after the bell and rung....
I don't know what Moorer is trying to prove by still fighting? He is long past his best days. I know the guy is a bit hard headed you can tell that by some of his interviews but still I also think he is smart enough to know he is not going to win a title or even become close to getting a shot. His last quality win was over Vassily Jirov over 3 years ago. Jirov was even more of an undersized heavyweight then Moorer. It's been a decade since he even took part in a world title fight.
He has had a pretty impressive career. Former light heavyweight champion, two time heavyweight champion ( or was it 3?). I wish I knew what went through these fighters minds and why they insist on fighting when they know they are past their best. The last time I had seen Moorer speak was on ESPN Classic Ringside series and he had the punchy drawl from too many hits to the head, time to hang them up he has a family go enjoy your time with them.
He was training a prospect heavy weight for a while also. Then the kid left and Moorer decides to fight again. Just get some new fighters. Moorer is smart enough to be a good trainer. Definitely needs to stop fighting now.
Honestly who cares?
The best thing Moorer ever did was get knocked out by a 45 year old George Foreman.
The second best thing Moorer ever did was get knocked out in 30 seconds by Tua.
Generally, he's a jerk, who has long overstayed his welcome as a fighter. If he wants to train fighters, cool, I'm sure he would make a good trainer. BUT he needs to retire, to quote Larry Holmes, he has become "a fat slob impersonating a fighter".
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Juan Manuel Lopez won on this fight card. Just thought I'd add that.

As far as the guy being a jerk........................
You're 100% right. I saw something on HBO about him, and the guy was a total prick.
Not even a likeable one (Mayweather, Judah, Hamed, etc...) Michael Moorer is a straight up butt-hole.
People like Moorer should have their licence taken from them. Its only a matter of time before they get seriously injured. Same for Holyfield who is wrecking his legacy. We will soon have fans growing up not even knowing he was actually a class Cruiserweight and in his early days a damn good Heavyweight.
I will remember Michael Moorer for being sent to sleep by a Grand father.
Tip of the month: Protect yourselves at all times. You never know when the scheming bitch will come back for more.
I don't necessarily think Holyfield is wrecking his legacy, that legacy is there no matter what. Embarassing himself yes, but not wrecking anything. The fans who grow up, if they are serious about the sport, will know very well the accomplishments of Holyfield. As far as Moorer, I could never stomach him. I don't know how Teddy Atlas put up with his mouth. Of course, Moorer probably never had a chance to say anything because Teddy was most likely always running his croaker.Originally Posted by Bukom Battler

Hidden Content Click clack ! Give up the purse.........or yetti will find you.
I dont think it is fair to say that Moorer should have his licence taken away. He has every right to fight if he wants to even if some of you would like to see him stop. Hes the one in the ring and its his legacy he is affecting. Moorer wins a SD and people criticize him for fighting, and Tua barely beats Hawkins and Salif and nobody says he should be suspended. All of these guys should be able to fight if they want, with the exception of Bowe reguardless of their performances as long as they arent getting kod consecutively or taking unnecessary punishment..
