Thread: Kessler VS Calzaghe Final Countdown

Well , it's finally here , one of 2007's most anticipated fights ! I keep leaning to a Calzaghe decision but i find this one a little tougher to predict. vote for who you think is going to win and comment on the way you see this fight going.

Calzaghe will befuddle Kessler something rotten.

I wanna say Joe but Ive had a bad feeling about this one, if he has any problems with his hands tomorrow hes screwed and he'll get stopped.

I like both fighters. Both are articulate and both can fight. Neither is used to losing or being dominated. I feel it's down to heart and will power so I've got to give it to Joe. I think he wants to finish what he started with Lacy. He knows he is fighting for his legacy now and that a win over Kessler means more than any other fight since he won the vacant belt.

2 totally different styles, I mean completely different! I hope for a great fight that is part war and part chessmatch, with a good decision at the end.

Only if Calzaghe is in the zone. I have not seen Calzaghe be in the zone since Lacy and he has been trying to surpass this. I have never seen him in the zone before Lacy nor after so if you think he is going to be all that, I say check again. I am still going with Calzaghe in a split decision. Kessler is very good and has some very decent skills. He is no sitting duck and this will not be a walk in the park for Calzaghe. (Unless he is in the zone) <--One in a million so far.

I'm sticking with Calzaghe, it's going to be a war one way or the other. I'm so excited and nervous now I could piss in my pants.

even though i voted calzaghe, i want kessler to win and i believe he has a HUUUUGE CHANCE TO WIN. but calzaghe should be the favourite and expected to win cos he hasnt lost in ages.

kessler should test calzaghe more than anyone ever did since an over the hill eubank.

I always get nervous before a calzaghe fight. I like the guy and think he is a gentlemen of the ring and i really do not want to see him ever get beat. I thought he would beat LAcy but when i saw the size of him and all these experts saying Joe's reign will end tonight (including Mcguigan!!) I became nervous as hell before that fight. But joe delivered and i was proud as punch and loved every nervous second.

I just hope that is what i feel tomorrow night!!!

I have to go with Joe with a pretty good lead on points.

Well, let's be fair Danny....if, as you say, you only count the lacy fight as when he was truly in the zone, it's still one in 42....he's not Ernie Smith, who's on the undercard.

Anyway, I went for Calzaghe, probably by UD, and I reckon he'll do it by three or four rounds margin, including a flash knockdown early on.
