Default A new contender set to be unleashed onto the scene

This years contender series has been brilliant, top fighters have made some great fights. A was backing Bika to win it from the start so hopefully he comes through as champ. I think there are going to be some big name fights for the boys coming out of the show. I think Paul Smith, Jaidon Codrington, Sakio Bika, will all be future world champs. Anyone been watchin it?

I thought from the get-go that Jaidon would win the Contender. I think Bika is a bit too old to use this to kickstart his career. There's more long-term effects of winning this competition if Jaidon were to win. I feel Bika is a very good fighter but cmon! Out of a possible 12 rounds between the first fight and the semi-finals, Jaidon only needed less than 3 rounds to get himself to the finals. That's impressive!

Jaidon has been impressive. Considering the loss of his father and him keeping focused he has done brilliant. A true champ either way.

I must admit I've pretty much lost interest in this show really. The first series was excellent but it gets weaker ever series imo.

It's watchable but I don't really get that excited about it any more.

It's not the fighters faults it's just a case of been there and done that.

And whilst guys like Bika and Soliman offer a credibility boosting win for a young prospect on the show having them progress to the latter stages ruins the experience to a degree as we all know that the likes of Bika, Soliman etc arn't ever going to shine on the world stage.

If Codrington wins it will at least be interesting following his career but who really cares about Sakio Bika? He's a tough guy but not truly world class as we already found out with Calzaghe and Bute.

I should've clarified this a bit more. I meant Bika was a bit old in comparison with Jaidon. Jaidon being 23 is very young and ready to take off with his boxing career. Bika being 28 is in his physical prime, he will be physically going on the downhill shortly.

Even IF Jaidon wins the Contender series he is a LOOOOOONNNNGGGG way from being in the top of the heap...He has alot of holes in his game and is too full of himself to go anywhere anytime soon...If he does not adjust that attitude of his and fix those holes in his style he will be sent away broken by the top level guys before he gets started....His Psyche is not all that good and a few more losses like the one to Green he will stall for good....I like Green but there are a lot of other guys out there better then he is and would use Jaidon as an easy payday

This is a great fight through 3, I'm surprised how game jaidon is, Sakio too, they have both been eating alot of leather.

Bika needs to develop some discipline QUICK.. everytime he lands a big shot he goes for the kill and then gets rocked.. He has the power to knock Jaidon out but he needs to relax.
