It was rumoured before the fight that Kessler had injured his hand he denied it but perhaps he denied it because the fight was so big and so close he could'nt really pull out this is just a thought your thoughts guys.

They asked him before the fight, he said no. They asked him after the fight if this was the case...he said no. It was just a rumour, which has been catagorically denied on all fronts. No excuse, Calzaghe just beat him.Originally Posted by TYSONBRUNO

I know what you mean, but he had the excuse there and didn't use it. If he'd hurt his hand before, he would have said so me thinks. The guy is a class act though. He really hope he does well in the future.Originally Posted by TYSONBRUNO
What about a rematch he said he would like one straight after the fight i would like to see that what about you
kessler isn't going to make excuses. if his hand was hurt he would of spoken out about it, as for a rematch i would say no, i like kessler, he's a great guy and fighter but calzaghe did win easily.
I've made a thread about this...Originally Posted by TYSONBRUNO

Regarding a rematch i wouldn't mind seing it but i think both fighters knew there wern't gonna be a rematch..

If i had a dollar for everytime i heard a boxer use an hand injury for an excuse i would be millionaire theres your answer.Originally Posted by TYSONBRUNO
That is, strictly speaking, not true. Kessler later admitted/suggested (depending on whether you beliveve him) that he did have some hand problems in the build up to the fight and therefore was unable to spar for a while. Kessler is now undergoing surgery in his hand.Originally Posted by bzkfn
However, Kessler has also repeatedly stated that his hand was fine at the night of the fight, and that the hand-problems should not be used as an excuse as he was beaten fair and square.
he may have had hand problems but he still managed to land his big shots Calzaghe was able to take them. Kessler didnt lose because of his hands it was his workrate that cost him.
Those are all the facts Mikkel...cc...He is having cartilage removed from his hand is what i heard.Originally Posted by Mikkel_K

So if his hand was damaged as it was repoted before the fight yes he threw it hard at Calzaghe but not as often as he would normally
Well, busted up hand or not, much respect to Kessler for not using it as an excuse in any way for his loss.
Kessler was throwing punches with both hands. I saw no evidence that his hand was hurt in any way
